It was so close to all the shops. Easy to navigate! The hotel itself was so beautiful. I love how they preserved some of the old style with a few modern updates.

The Hawthorne is an older but modern hotel with a lot of history. The reception displays grandeur. Tavern on site is good but can be very busy. Free parking on site a huge bonus. Free coffee in the lobby. Salem Common across the road for a nice walk. Close to activities.

Everything was amazing apart from the mattress. It was slightly to form for my liking, but that could just be preference. Everything else was perfect.

Everything, a real standout building in Salem. A land mark all of its own. Truly amazing to be able to say we have stayed in this historic building.

Absolutely nothing. It was fantastic.

Location is perfect for walking to all the witch related tourist offerings in Salem as well as a good range of bars and restaurants. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the rooms are beautiful. It's an old hotel with loads of charm, rumoured to be haunted but we had no visitations! An added bonus was complimentary hot drinks in the lobby (which is fabulous) all day, freshly prepared by a staff member. Breakfast at Nathaniel's was delicious and good value. Would have no hesitation in staying there again.

tea and coffee was supposed to be available from 6-11 in morning, but many times the wter and coffee was gone well before 11 and it was not refilled. same with afternoon cider, once gone there was none available

The vending machines weren’t stocked/didn’t have what was advertised. (Clicked for Diet Coke? Got Pepsi🙃) but the staff was quick to provide drinks from the tavern once notified!

The view from our room was amazing! The staff was lovely, and the room service was outstanding! We also dined at the tavern multiple times throughout the week. We were never disappointed! The buffet in the lobby on Christmas Day exceeded all expectations!

Some of the front desk staff were a bit confused and we always got diffrent answers depending on who was working. Love the front desk on check in they were friendly and helpful.

Genuinely don't have any pressing complaints- the only thing that was a little tricky was that the elevators are a little small and there's only one set- but again, it's part of the charm of a historic hotel, in my opinion.

The hotel is in an ideal location for anyone wanting to be able to walk around town- once we arrived, we didn't have to taxi anywhere until we left! Essex street shopping, the historical sights, and even the Hocus Pocus house were all within walking distance. The rooms were clean and had the character you'd appreciate in a historic hotel without lacking comfort and quality. Lobby was beautiful, restaurants downstairs were delicious and convenient. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles, but if you need somewhere convenient and comfortable to stay for a few days between your adventures in Salem, the Hawthorne is a great choice. We will definitely be returning.

This was the most beautiful hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in. This hotel is not ultra modern, it is a historic hotel; but the attention to detail and upkeep to their roots were exceptional. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Great breakfast food too! Within walking distance of main sites of Salem.
