Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location within a 2min walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. The staff were always friendly and were very helpful with storing our luggage when we went for an overnight trip to Yosemite. The free happy hour every evening (5-6pm) was a lovely bonus. Great rooms - clean, big, comfortable beds and pillows. We stayed here during a California trip from LA to SF and this was by far better than a Hilton and Marriott we stayed in on the trip. Would definitely come back and absolutely recommend!

Exceptional service - the people working there are so nice and accommodating! The rooms are beautiful, look just like they do in the pictures. Beds super comfy. Everything was squeaky clean. We enjoyed the location and felt very safe at all times.

No complains.
Breakfast has a many options on the menu. Excellent service both at the restaurant and front desk. The Hotel is located in an excellent location right near the pier and beautiful choices of restaurants around. This is our 2nd time at the Hotel in 2 years. Everything was excellent. The front desk does a great job in making sure guest are comfortable and very accommodating.

The breakfast was amazing! Loved the menu options. We also loved the record player and that you could check out records to play in the room. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice! The happy hour was a pleasant surprise!

The room was breakfast included however it was a voucher and we ended up having to spend more for juices and coffees. Saying that the breakfast food offerings were really good.
The decor was really nice and the location was great. The shower was amazing.

I loved the dj in the lobby, the happy hour-great wine, the check-in was easy, the plant pal to bring to my room, the record player in the room, The lp’s in the lobby to check out, the city view from the room, the sweatshirt robes-so comfy, the bed- clean and soft, the bath amenities delicious oh, the front desk staff are so kind and helpful and the restaurant is just incredible- had breakfast, yum! I felt great staying at this hotel. My room felt spacious and very comfortable.

I loved the location and how clean everything was. The happy hour was a very cool bonus that we weren’t expecting. We usually travel with our dog and they have the cutest amenities for them. It was my first time staying at a Kimpton Hotel and we will definitely look out for this brand on our future travels.

The Valley they took good care of the our suitcases at the day of check in but finally there is one-he doesn’t make a promise to book a mini van for us airport. He booked for us a small taxi so we (3 persons) met a difficulty to fix all 6 big suitcases and 3 carry on
I like the receptionists. They are professional and friendly.
