Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThey had no breakfast. They gave mini-muffins and oatmeal packets. They made Coffee one pot at a time so we were always waiting. There was no breakfast area. Room was not ready when we got there. Room and building were clean but very dated.
Staff was nice. Room was not ready when we got there, but because we verified the room with the manager in the morning, she was able to get us one.

United StatesThere was no one at the desk when we came and we waited quite awhile. Our room had no chair; they eventually brought one. We didn't have enough towels/washcloths for the number of people in our group; but we're told that towels were only given out on Mondays/Fridays. The doors slammed loudly early and late. We asked for kitchen supplies; but they were completely out of coffee makers, etc. The facility was full; but they should have added staff. They couldn't keep up with breakfast.
It was clean and adequate, for the most part. The price was good.

The next morning I went down to talk to the employee who knew we were in a smaller room but no double rooms were available.

United StatesThere was furniture missing in one of our booked rooms, but upon entering the facility the property was really bad. The elevator was very janky and completely stopped working after the first use. We were on the 3rd floor and had to walk up and down the stairs for three days. The entire hotel have this cigarette smell to it and we immediately had to run to walmart to get lysol because it felt unclean in the room. We also purchased car air freshener to put on the AC to get rid of the smell that lingered in the room. One of our rooms was completely missing an iron and a lamp. The AC in that room was not working properly either.
The AC worked great in one of the rooms we booked. The price was also good. The staff there were EXCELLENT.

I found one on my bed and I found another one inside my pillowcase ( since all 3 pillows & the cases were dirty and was not changed but covered with clean pillowcases and there was a smell on these pillowcases.) The third bed bug was found behind the bed board when it was pulled down.
