We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Front desk wasn't accommodating (called the day before to ask for an early check in and was told yes for a $20, and then get turned down when I go to check in and have to wait 2 hours). Not quiet.

United States of AmericaAs soon as we paid for our room, the desk clerk told us we had 5 minutes to decide if our room was acceptable. The air conditioner was blasting when we walked into the room. We shut it off but there is no heater in the room, which the desk clerk told us there is. Both beds only had a sheet and bedspread covered with holes to keep you warm.It was cold and not very clean. We inquired about changing in the room, but the clerk told us we'd only have one bed and that it would be in a similar condition. We asked for extra blankets and she laughed, stating that it's "not an upscale hotel". Seriously? You can only get blankets in an upscale hotel? The tub has no stopper or stopping mechanism so you can't take a bath. You can only shower. The air dryer mounted on the wall is not working.The window curtains don't close all the way. There were other guests loudly arguing with each other (yelling and screaming) in the hall and the desk clerk made it clear that she was not going to do anything about it. She seems to be working all alone so I can see why she didn't want to put herself in harm's way. We didn't expect a fancy experience. But we expected a clean, functional room and a full night's sleep. We got neither. We will never stay at another Howard Johnson or Wyndham property.

United States of AmericaRoom: Broken fixture on floor lamp, so no light from that source. The smoke detector was in a drawer. The light over the mirror in the room (not the bathroom) took five minutes to come on. Thought it was non-functional until just before we left. Two of the wall receptacles didn’t work. I booked via Booking.com. They said the room included a free breakfast. When I enquired about it, the clerk said, “Oh no, no breakfast due to COVID. When I said that that should be removed from the website and that one reason for our choice was the breakfast, he just shrugged. I really felt that we were owed a partial refund.
