Sometimes there were people talking around midnight. Upstairs shower could use a small tray to put stuff on, smelt a weird burning plastic smell one night but could have been from outside. Only happened once.

Excellent location right in the heart of Little Italy and walking distance to bus and trolly. Private room was nice, bed very comfortable. Communal kitchen was excellent with bread eggs pancake mix supplied, added value and we met people this way. We are booked to return and can't wait! Lots of good restaurants nearby.

The location is very good. Easy to walk to the water front. Each bed has a curtain for privacy which is very good. The breakfast provide home made pancake, and eggs, which is superb.

They couldn’t turn off the A.C. in the private room, which was pushing cold into the room like crazy. It was also noisy. We ended up getting cold with fever, sore throat, headache and all in the middle of our trip, which was of course really bad timing.

Nice ambiance, nice free breakfast. Fun common room. Clean bathrooms. The staff was super friendly.

Communication is a bit problematic. If you're a traveler from another country and you do not have calls in your phone plan, your best choice to get in touch with them is to write them an email. Considering that they have the reception open from 7am to 4am it would be great to be in touch with them via Booking or WhatsApp for all updates.

Gracious room and common area. The kitchen is well furnished and offers a good breakfast for the price. The staff does their best to help you if you need it

Place could be a little neater. Bit of a cluster and not as put together or updated as it looks on photos but honestly we had a great time and the price was a great deal.

Staff was so welcoming and kind! Guests were all great too, everyone respected our space/stuff. Location is GREAT, lots of stuff near by like Little Italy.

The TV didn’t work and the place could’ve been a little cleaner.

Loved the location! Just a couple blocks from Little Italy and the water. The room was spacious and the shared bathroom was right next door to the room. Staff was friendly and check in and out was easy.

Maybe I had high expectations since I have been to much better hostels in Europe. Can do much much better job in cleanliness and the common area is too conjusted. Bedsheets were spotty.

The kitchen is a bit dirty as it is mostly used during breakfast and the guest are supposed to be self-sustainable, but it was not a problem, maybe a point to work on.

The staff, the breakfast, the room, and the caramel coffee syrup - it was the first time when I had the pleasure to taste it except in coffee places. It was a nice change of the breakfast routine.

Toilet not working, or working erratically. Shower with black, slimey spots that I had to clean myself. Windows, wardrobe shelves, top of refrigerator with much dust on them.

The hostel is very safe, comfort and cleanliness. The location is good, it is possible to walk easy to the main attractions in the downtown. Also, the trolley station(little Italy) is near from the hostel.

I really love everything here. Feel like staying at my friend's house. Staff were so friendly and helpful since my first step into the reception and when I checked out. I will definitely come back and stay here when in San Diego again 😊
