To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe building itself was dirty, rundown and not kept up. Filthy carpets, trash around property. Late checkout would have been another 40$ charge I was told. One elevator out of order.
Breakfast was sufficient and good. Location very convenient. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom clean and in good working order. Bed comfortable.

United States of AmericaI did like the lay out of the room, very spacious had plenty of room.
Well a few things I did not like, the elevator was down, there was food on the floor in the stair well, but most of all the noise from out side my room all night! I couldn’t sleep, the children were loud and I believe running out in the hall, none of the sockets in my room worked so I couldn’t charge my phone , I had to sit my car and do it. It was not a good experience.

United States of AmericaOld and looks dirty. The toilet seat in the bathroom was peeling plastic. The seal in the bathroom drain doesn’t connect. Therefore it makes a vibrating loud thumb noise. My room door look like it had been kicked in the bottom wouldn’t connect to the door frame.
