We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe room was outdated. The bathroom felt more like a public bathroom than it did a hotel bathroom. The floors were dirty. A lamp was broken so I couldn’t turn it on. The shower smelled liked mold. The bed squeaked every time I moved. My check in process felt very uncomfortable. I was sent to a room that was dirty. They upgraded my room to compensate. They only had 1 elevator working. It would have been nice to have both elevators running.

We left the Econo Lodge shortly after check-in due to unacceptable conditions and were thrilled to see that La Quinta still had rooms available. Nice breakfast offerings. Charging station on the nightstand. Also the water pressure in the shower was great.

United States of AmericaThe bed was extremely uncomfortable. I woke up every morning with backaches. The room was tiny. I reserved a room for 5 people and my service dog and the room barely fit us. It was only two beds, no pull out couch or anything like that. If I reserved a room for 5 people why would they give us a room so small. I have also never been in a hotel room without an additional mirror to help make mornings easier with getting ready as well as not having a microwave or refrigerator.
The breakfast was the best part of our stay!!
