Wonderful, helpful staff.They carried our bags to and from our room. Nice well equipped kitchen for cooking food. We were able to stay on premises after checkout time. We also enjoyed the interesting art on the walls.

Pros: Great location, clean facilities including full kitchen, easy check-in/out process, 24/7 Staff, overall great value for a solo traveler looking to be within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions in Downtown San Diego.

The room was severely cold and there was no way to feel warm. The top covering did not offer much warmth. Please offer a heater or warmer blankets.

The experience at Lucky D's was beautiful becuase of all of the lovely travelers I met. That was the highlight of my stay. The staff and travelers were respectful, open hearted and lovely. The second highlight is the amazing artistry and creativity of the space. I love walking up the stairs and seeing a large portrait of the GREAT Jimmy Hendrix. Thank you for putting so much thoughtfulness into this beautiful, magical space.

Everything went well till the last day. I wanted to book a taxi to the airport and unfortunately for some reason, my Uber app was not taking cash/credit/debit card payments and I was not able to book one. I asked for help in the reception and the person dialed me a number and gave me the phone. Due to my accent, the taxi company did not understand what I was talking about and, hence, did not register my ride. I conveyed my problem to the receptionist and he didn't help further at all. I had to get a colleague sitting in my home country to book me one otherwise I would have missed my flight. I did see him help two other women where he carried their luggage for them. A bit more help would have been appreciated.

The room was very clean and the facilities were really nice. The toilets were really clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The one exceptional thing I should point out- they remove the trash every day and one day they took out my trash can and forgot to replace it. When I reminded this in the reception, they kept it back and the person who did it actually picked up my trash, which I had simply placed near the door (due to lack of trash can) and put it into the trash can. This was very sweet and commendable on the part of the staff.

The plumbing was very old, it didn't drain easily when someone brushes their teeth or the toilet doesn't want to flush.

The sheets. Really. I have never slept with such comfortable bedding. The next night at a Best Western the sheets feel like sandpaper.

Only 2 showers for the whole floor, which wasn’t really enough in the morning hours.

The location was right in downtown, which has its pros and cons. A lot of homeless people and tents around at night. But than you’re in downtown also..

Duvet was very stained and no cover provided. People talking in nearby rooms till 0330.

Location is superb. Just a few blocks from Petco Park and the bars and restaurants in Gaslight area. Helpful staff able to give advice on local area, attractions and discounts for the zoo.

I was bit by I suppose tiny mosquitos, No seems? Could see or hear them but the bites did occur during both my stays.No big deal.

The place was a little run down compared to the pictures on the website, but I guess it’s what you pay for. The outside windows had clothes drying, and the paint was worn. The inside of our room was ok. The mattress protector was stained with weird yellow/brown stains, and so were the pillows. We didn’t notice this until we were checking out and taking out the bedding. Since the location is downtown there were a lot of noisy people yelling and screaming, but that’s not the places fault.

The staff was very friendly and helpful when we first arrived. The people we encountered who were staying there were also really friendly and nice. I never felt unsafe staying there.

the only thing I was worried about was the railing of the bed (on top) it was held up with lots of tape but I was worried it could give if I put more weight on it.

The bathrooms could have been cleaner. There was no toilet paper, and ,or paper towels to dry hands. The entrance into the hostel didn't smell clean at all,it needed to be disinfected and mopped. Was not welcoming at all.

I loved the location. And the staff(s) were very friendly and helpful. The place was easy to find.

Very early check out time. I prefer the noon check out that many hotels and motels have. Too many rules to follow. I was swept away by the rules of this place. In all this hostel was an ok place.

I booked a room with only ladies and to my surprise, a gentleman spend a night in my dorm room. It was very disrespectful and uncomfortable for me as a woman. I ended up have to dress up in the very dirty bathroom because I had no choice😡😡😡

50% of the time we engaged with the staff members seemed that we bother them by interrupting a conversation they where having amongst each other. Giving us attitude and not really caring if they were really helping us or not.

The location was amazing. Close to great restaurants, bars, all kinds of shops, and to the baseball stadium. The building and rooms where as expected for a hostel. Great artwork on the walls.
