Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceIt was difficult to reach the lodge as the main road was currently being closed.
It was located in the middle of the national park and away from the roads, being a very quiet place. The food served there was quite good and varied from one day to another.

LuxembourgThere's a long detour now to get to the lodge that leads via unpaved road - we were not informed about this prior to arrival. Lots of things are under construction/renovation now, so not all facilities are available.
Very good food, buffet style, especially dinner was fabulous. Great contact with the staff, even if the prices dropped since we made the reservation it was easy to get a refund of the difference.

United States of America1. the description says that this cabin has kitchen. in reality there is no kitchen top stove. so anyway you can only reheat food with microwave, not boil or fry something. but 24/7 access to snacks and tea/coffee solved the problem. 2. not comfortable king mattress ( like hammock) 3. if you have a lot of food with you- the fridge is too small
forest view, breakfast, good location, big cottage

United States of AmericaThe rooms need to be modernized. The staff should smile a bit more.
The hotel is perfectly located in between the Kings Canyon and the Sequoia. It offers an amazing view and is "embedded" in a wonderful landscape. The small lake inside the resort is a small gem. Rooms are ok, but they need to be modernized. They offer a decent dinner (the dessert was great!) and a good breakfast. They also offer the possibility to prepare sandwiches for lunch. we really appreciated the after-dinner activities for the kids. It's maybe a bit expensive for what the structure offers, but again the location is perfect and that can justify the little extra.

United States of AmericaThe food was not a highlight, but it was nice to not to have to worry about getting nourishment after a lot of hiking. The room was comfortable but did not seem very clean and having cleaner/ updated flooring would be a big improvement for me.
It was very convenient that all meals were provided and snacks too and the coffee was better than average! The food was average, not at all fancy, and with some variety. The location right in/ next 2 Kings Canyon and Sequoia Parks is fantastic which was the primary reason I chose it and it was available with short notice.

United States of AmericaThere were a few minor restrictions due to Covid but completely understandable.
All meals were included, the location was great with wonderful views. The staff was accommodating and we were able to make sandwiches, etc. to take with us for lunch around the park. If felt like summer camp and we really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

United States of AmericaThe hot tub was not working. The tech stated he was working on the hot tub, but that seemed to be said to appease us. I don't think the hot tub had been working or was expected to work during our stay. The pool was not heated. There were some old playground items just kind of shoved up to the side of a building that looked a little trashy.
Meals were provided 3 times per day. The food was excellent and the best part was the availability. Guests can get leftovers and other items after meal times. Great for families. The location was great because there were hikes you can do from the property. The staff were very nice. We loved the laid back atmosphere. The property was cute. There was a foosball table that was fun.

United States of AmericaThe area around the lodge could have been kept up better. The pond area had a lot of algae. The equipment looked old and dirty. Some areas like the rock climbing area was not kept up and we could not use it. We had to wipe the tables outside. There was a lot of food but it did not have much taste and was not very appealing. They played loud live music while we ate and for a couple more hours but it could have been better.
There was a very nice view of the mountains and we could eat looking at them. The room was homey with nice toiletries and we liked the bunk beds for the kids. They did offer us a lot of extra things like smores, unlimited tea/coffee, granola bars, snacks, etc. There was also a lot of cereal, bread, peanut butter, oatmeal, etc. in addition to breakfast.

United States of AmericaThe food needs improvement and dining room needs to be clean and dead flowers need to be remove from table. Serving utensils need to be place better so it won’t fall into food especially it’s a buffet.

United States of AmericaNo fridge in the room; we had some food for our hikes and nowhere to keep it cool. Main building was very noise until late with some people running up and down the stairs. Buffet food was cold
Location on the road connecting Sequoia and Kings Canyon makes the lodge very convenient; many hikes nearby. There is a lake with canoes, kayaks, etc.. for guests to use. Dinner was buffet style, with good choices; there was live music and s’mores afterwards. Nice wrap-around deck with amazing views.

United States of AmericaSince the lodge has been around for a while, it does show its age with the expected wear and tear. There is construction on site to turn it from a winter to a summer place.
The location is perfect since the lodge is on Generals Highway and is close to Kings Canyons Highway. Having 3 meals daily included in the room rate is an added star. Especially the dining options are no where nearby. The food is not fancy but very good.
