We were not happy that the property’s intended approach for holding funds on a credit card (the full amount for the stay, plus an additional $100/night for possible extras) was not explained clearly to us. We expected to pay (using a different card) upfront, but this did not happen. To their credit, the manager agreed to correct the misunderstanding in the best way he could. Ideally, staff should be aware that people checking in can sometimes be very tired and jet lagged and might not fully understand what they are being told is going to happen. People should also be given the option to pay in advance (which is what we expected).

Rooms are a good size. Location is good. Very handy to the International Market Place and the beach.

Unfortunately, like most hotels in the area, car parking was expensive as it was valet only, but it is what it is. We were very happy with the room for our 3 day stay, and would happily stay again if it was a short trip. Rooms aren't huge, so it wouldn't be ideal for a long stay.

We booked this room at the last minute as we had booked elsewhere and checked in there to find the room to be dirty. Hilton Garden Inn was able to accommodate us within an hour, all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, the room was VERY clean, the bed was really comfortable. We didn't have a view, as it was a last minute booking, but we didn't mind at all, as we were only really in the room to sleep and shower. The location was great, opposite the International Marketplace, and walking distance to most of the Waikiki area. We actually only used our car when we were going outside of Honolulu.

Not enough space in the lobby upon arrival. Despite requesting an early check-in in advance there was unfortunately no rooms available which is fine as its subject to availability, however there wasn't even anywhere to sit down and wait in the lobby. The receptionist at the time was not overly friendly or helpful in this matter, however a few hours later we spoke to another lady who was fabulous and helped us immediately. The beds were not overly supportive for my mother who has back issues but were still comfortable.

The location was very central and within walking distance to great shopping, food and attractions but most importantly the beach. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff for most part were very friendly. The hotel helped us arrange our activities which was amazing.

Being woken by the (false) emergency alarm that fired at 2 AM through the whole hotel. Parking is kind of pricey but that's the reality in Waikiki Beach, and though it has valet, I guess the cars were parked kind of far because some times it would take a little bit to get them ready.

Honest hotel at a great location in Waikiki beach (5 min walking). Staff were all very good. Lots of stores, and restaurants at a walking distance. Wifi was also good. Free towels available for the pool and to take to the beach were great! There's also convenience store at the first floor. We got the partial ocean view apartment and it has a nice balcony/view!

Breakfast was not good as I expected buffet or more variety within the budget, on day 3, we were already tired of the food (or added cost to get something else) but since it was paid in advance, we had to make do with it (my son and wife actually ate 4-5 of of the breakfast we paid for our entire stay). I also notice that there is a disjoint in the front desk, twice it happened; First I made prior arrangements (my son's room transfer) and was confirmed but when the arrangement was to be executed, front desk claim was that no arrangement was made. Second, a friend left a package in reception and when I claimed the package, front desk advice was there was none. Only them after a long wait (not counting the time in queue) that both were confirmed, that yes, 1. room arrangement and payment was made and yes, 2. the package was in reception.

The experience was ok, service and most staff were great. Room was clean and properly serviced, I like the available morning coffee in the lobby. While I did not expect paper cups and utensils in the room, I accepted it. Thanks for asking my feedback.

The pool and bar was a little disappointment in the size and what they had to offer.

The entire staff was friendly, even if they did not directly assisted us and on a casual pass by. There was a restaurant and convenience store within the hotel.

parking fee is very expensive, if you rent a car, might need to looking for street parking overnight or hourly parking in the International Market. Breakfast is just ok.

The location is very good, there are 2 abc stores around, International Market cross street, they have performance a lot of time. They also have a cat cafe that you can go pet the cats. So close to the beach and the environment is very safe.
