I think that they could have fixed the plantation shutters so that they worked and maybe put a curtain over the window in the “nook” for darkening the room. The ceiling fan is extremely noisy if turned on past low.
love that it is “old school”. Small private property. the bed was very comfortable!! THIS IS TRULY A HIDDEN GEM IN THE DESERT!!!

United States of AmericaThe fact that there were no one staff members on site was a minor headache. We came back to our room after a hike to find a puddle of water on our restroom floor. We thought our room was haunted. LOL While we did receive an apology and explanation, it was mildly annoying that the hotel staff entered our room without our knowledge.
The resort was so quiet and peaceful. My girlfriend and I felt as if we had the place all to ourselves. The room was big and felt like an apartment. The decorations were a nice touch. We didn't have any complaints.

It is a true 1950s hotel - while my room wasn’t like the pictures - it was very cute with the stagecoach theme. It was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever been in. They kept me totally informed before my arrival. Unfortunately i didn’t discover the breakfast part until i left - would have liked a little placecard in the room of the times.

The thunderstorm that came through was great; but.. it ruined the hot tub so we couldn’t use it the last 12 hours of our stay 😩.. and it appeared to be no attempt to fix it right away. I booked this spot due to ALL of the good reviews about the hosts and the food only to find out after we arrived that the owners changed just a month ago so no food, no hosts. That was a real bummer. It should be clearly noted for future guests that these services are longer offered. That it is more of an Air B&B now, which is fine but needs to be clear when booking. Donald was very nice and helpful. the place is lovely & we would like to return in the future.
I really liked the fact that we had the place to ourselves for the first 24 hours! The pool &hot tub were great, the room was great, the bathtub was awesome! Close to food spots. The no contact was nice (even though it was unexpected) the music outside was nice ..the floaties for the pool was nice to have access to. The size of the place was perfect.

We really enjoyed the the breakfast and smoothies every morning. We also like that the pool is open 24 hrs and we enjoyed it late at night when it was still warm. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We also liked dealing with John and Carlos, they were very attentive and easy to talk to. Thank you, we will be back.

United States of AmericaWhat we did not like is that the place is very tired and needs some love. Paint is old and tired. The place has great bones and could be a wonderful place to stay if it were updated. The pool deck needs to be redone it currently has a blue out door carpet covering the concrete deck. The carpet is very old and out dated. A little TLC could bring this place back to its former glory. Lose the theme rooms and go with a more mid century or 1930s decor and you have a winner. It is a shame to see the place so run down and falling apart.
The best part of the place was the staff. Friendly and gave some great advice on places to eat as well as great cocktails at the 5 o’clock hour

Canadabath tub was dirty, tiles are broken, grab rail was broken, grime on the tiles, shower curtain disgusting, AC did not work until I cleaned out the filters which was disgusting job. This property could be a gem if someone put in the effort in maintenance, renos etc.. I am sure some of the jobs are harder than others. pillow cases held together with safety pins. fireplace shut off at 1 minute. would randomly come back on At the price paid, I expected a whole lot more.
