Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe place is super run down and pretty creepy. Luckily our room wasn't dirty like many other people have described, the cleaning lady was very nice, but everything was the lowest quality you can get away with.
There was a bed and it didn't have bedbugs but that's about all that was good about it. Not comfy at all. Location-wise it was fine. A decent Uber-ride away from MetLife stadium. Plus in my reservation it said there was a $20 security deposit but it was $50 upon arrival.

United States of Americathe lobby smelled of smoke, The clientele was questionable at best. It seems like there were prostitutes we’re getting rooms. The room wasn’t bad but we could hear everyone around us and they stayed up all night. The neighborhood is also highly questionable. this is not the place you would take your kids, unfortunately I did because I didn’t know what I was getting. there were burn holes in the bed covers, I shudder to think what else
the nicest thing I can say is that it’s a vintage hotel.

United States of AmericaEverything was old and dirty. I had to park on the street because tbey wanted to charge $10 extra for parking. Even though I paid for a room in advance I had to pay $50 when I checked-in. There is no coffee shop - as their webpage says - or anywhere to even get a bottle of water on premise. And when I asked for their fitness center - also mentioned on their page - they said it was under repair. When I checked out at 5:00AM there was no one at the lobby but a sleeping security guard whom I had to wake-up and who told me to just leave tbe room key om the counter and then went back to sleep. Quite honestly, I wouldn't wish my worst enemy stayed here.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is very dated and not the cleanest. The place smells like an ashtray so if you don't like cigarette smoke, this is not the place for you.
The location is good for getting around Newark. Surprisingly quiet.

United States of AmericaiT WAS DIRTY! The outside looks nice but once you walk in, you kind of have to wonder if you’re in the right location. No one was wearing masks, and if they were it was not worn correctly. My key did not work. I had to go from the 5th to first floor twice. This place was not worth $115 AT ALL. There were roaches in the bathroom. The bed sheets were stained and so was the mattress cover. They also charge an additional fee for parking which isn’t advertised on their website. I’d strongly recommend some renovations, and possibly new management.
The security guard that was on duty, that night. I don’t remember his name but he was the highlight of the stay.

United Kingdom*THIS IS A SCAM* No need to even consider this place, just read the other reviews, I made the mistake of not reading them before I booked. This isn't a hotel it's a homeless shelter and they will turn you away even if you have a booking. Fortunately I was refunded but we had to find another hotel short notice which was expensive. Booking.com need to remove this from the site!

Colombiawhat are you asking for a service that you did not lend? You provided me with one the worst experiences in my life. When I got to the hotel, after having paid for it and reconfirming with you, It was CLOSED. Then, on a very rainy afternoon in Newark, I had to look for another hotel to spend my night. It was not easy, after several hours I got a spot in a Marriot hotel. Bad, to bad; this is not the way to treat somebody.
