Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Breakfast was good and the staff let us use the room to warm up other meals, and we saw some people using it to play games. The small room was functional. The location was walking distance form the Old Town, and the staff very friendly and helpful/

The parking was a bit snug, especially since there were some big pickup trucks.
The staff was friendly and the room was nice. The best part for us was the location as it was within a 10 minute drive to both the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld.

I absolutely stay at this place when I come to San Diego every single time the price is fair it's very clean it's got full kitchenettes and a microwave and a refrigerator. I can bring my fur babies and the staff they are absolutely excellent excellent people!!!!

There is absolutely nothing that I can complain about. It is a very nice place with all kinds of conveniences nearby.
The rooms are very spacious, the kitchenette was wonderful and very useful for us. The staff provided so many utensils that everything was taken care of. The room and the bathroom was super clean and the staff was extremely friendly, courteous and welcoming. I asked them so much about places to visit and they gave me lot of helpful information. I even got a good deal for zoo tickets from them. The breakfast was very good with lots of options for everyone. It was a wonderful stay and all of us loved the place. Would recommend it to everyone, families, couples, everyone. Also, the location is amazing. Very close to the Sea World, Zoo, all the beautiful beaches. Top notch and value for money. Loved the coffee available in the lobby till late in the night. Ample parking too.

Not close to downtown, but walkable to old town. Though the walk back from old town was a bit scary at night walking through the bus station as a female with my teenage daughter.
Clean and comfortable. Large room. Housekeeping comes daily, which is rare these days. Free parking and breakfast are a bonus. Walking distance to old town was nice (just not after dark)

No restaurants within easy walking distance.
Good value for the area when traveling with a dog. Room was large, plenty of light. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok.

Very hospitable guest service, both front desk and cleaning crew are very nice and friendly. Room is very clean and spacious, bed is very comfortable. Location is not perfect but good enough, about 10 minute walk to metro stop and old town.

Great location, easy to access via vehicle. Within walking distance to Old Town San Diego Historic Park (5 min walk). Free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, free movies, clean and well maintained rooms, helpful staff 😊

on 1st floor and could hear everything above - people walking all night and morning long across the top and in their rooms
Vinny was able to call house services to see if we could get our room earlier since coming from out of town and he was able to. the breakfast has a wide variety and open 6am-10am. Clean, inviting, local to downtown and old town.

The only reasons I haven't given full marks are that it is located on a very busy main road, and the room was quite dark (needed lights on all the time).
Very friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast, plus coffee and cold water available all day. Lovely gardens and pool area. Really close to Old Town and public transport system.

Location will not be for everyone.
Easy stay, perfect value for the money. Location is an industrial area but just a 5 minute walk from the old town which is kind of a historic slash tourist thing. The actual city is a 15 min drive, all good. Good breakfast. Massive huge rooms with a kitchenette. Very clean and vert friendly staff. Recommended.

Loud road/ train noise at night and in early morning (6am train horn). Really lumpy pillows.
Location was perfect, just minutes to SeaWorld and the zoo! Breakfast was great, room was clean, staff was friendly!
