The owner seemed very suspicious (for no reason); his son checked us in, and he was much friendlier. It is quite loud with the highway directly next to the motel and trucks or trains honking at night.

The blanket on the bed was thin—I had to double it over myself to be warm enough, even with the heat set at 68. Check-in could have been more welcoming.

The fact that I'm being watched constantly. Everything I do. The manage,Manny, is so rude to me. And I've never done anything to him. I'm respectful to his entire family.. Even him. And I think it's just because the way I dress. He thinks I'm so criminal. And I'm not. I'm just a single father of a 15 year old son. And currently we are homeless. So we've been here off and on since April and have spent thousands of dollars at this hotel. And I still get treated like I'm doing something wrong when I'm not. I've had to fix my truck from breaking down and don't have any other place to do it at. So I've worked on my truck a few times. It was all emergencies. And have ask them beforehand and also cleaned up after myself. I've cleaned my room every day. I'm such a clean person. I can't even have my little brother come over to visit. Manny seem to think that my family members are of the bad element. And that's far from the truth. It's straight racial profiling. Especially when I'm told that I cant be outside rearranging my truck. Or cleaning out my truck. When there was another gentleman doing the same thing and he did tell him the same thing. It's ridiculous. How this world is. I'm just trying to live and take care of my kid. And we are already going through a lot and don't need another person hating on us because the way that we look. But other than that. This is the best place to stay at. And everyone else that works here are excellent and nice. I mean he's nice to everyone else but me and my family. I don't get it I'll ask for the pool to be open and he will tell me that it's closed. And then someone else will ask and he'll open it. But whatever it's still the most cleanest safest place in Merced to stay at. And for the most part. The rest of management is awesome. Sorry Manny. But I wouldn't do any bad at this place and I'm nobody.

It is next to the railway for freight trains so can be really loud but what bothered us the most was the most was that we could here every step of the people housing above. It woke us up at 6am and went on for more than 30mins. That was the end of a real short night.

The staff was kind and we could check-in fast. They also gave us some valuable info about Yosemite.
