Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFelt we could’ve been put into a better location. Stuck in a corner location with very little Ocean View, which is what we purchased. Room was more akin to a Resort View. Valet was very slow. Took over 25 minutes to get the car, causing is to be late to an appointment. Would like to see a self-parking option at this resort, rather than being forced to pay $60 a night for a car parked a few feet away.
Friendly staff, nice accommodations.

United StatesThe service was not up to par. The quality of food and prices at the restaurants were not good. The breakfast buffet did not even include coffee. The resort fee is ridiculous and there is nothing even included for the resort fee. The price of the hotel is not worth what you get. Will not be returning.
The view was very nice. The property was right on the ocean so location was great. Pool area was nice and the kids really enjoyed the slide, heated pool, and hot tubs.

United StatesIt was on the pricey side, but that is to be expected. The only issue I could think of is housekeeping did not come to our room one day and the other day did not refill our coffee K-Cups in the room. A quick call to reception though and they sent some right up.
The location was beautiful! A 45 minute drive from LAX (with good traffic), the room was gorgeous, the pool, bar and food scene was fantastic. The meals were pricey, but that was to be expected. You could see whales from your pool lounge chair. It was family and dog friendly, but you could also easily avoid both by going to the adult only pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. Impeccably clean and well kept grounds

United StatesThe rooms were overpriced based on their decor, size, amenities and worn appearance. Overnight valet parking was $50 for a spot in an exterior parking lot.
The property location, on the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes, cannot be beaten for scenery and relative quiet. The restaurants are all good, as was the Lobby Bar and Lounge. The Staff was excellent. Since we live close, we will return to enjoy those again.

United StatesWe were on 6th floor. Event at pool below balcony was so loud we had to wear earplugs to get sleep even with drapes/blinds closed. USB Charging port and outlet next to bed and reading light above bed were inoperative. Called for porter to pick up bags, waited on hold 10 minutes and gave up. Hauled our own bags. $50 per night for self parking is extreme rip off. Woudn't mind $25 per night. Lack of bidet on toilet was disapointing.
Nice room, giant TV, good food at restraunts visited. Food very high priced IMHO. View from 6th floor room very impressive. Both days Hot and Humid but HVAC in room was able to keep up. Sound isolaton between rooms A+.

United StatesOur major issue- there are several swimming pools advertised BUT one- our preferred - an adult Quiet pool right at oceans edge - was closed weekdays! Furthermore- the spa pool costs over $200 in excess to use and is for spa guests! Awfully disappointing. And..the doors bang shut and the way the rooms are designed- in pockets of twos- you must keep your fingers crossed your neighboring guests are quiet..don't order room service at 5am. Not our case!

United StatesI was exciting when I saw photos of the facility posted on website. But when I arrived on September 7 and I was a little disappointed. The room I stayed table was dusty and bathroom was not fresh and I can’t even find a notepad and pen for the guest to use. Breakfast at Catalina restaurant is over price.

Canada*Front desk are not very friendly, I feel the parking is very expensive (50'$ per night), TIP: use the public parking at the entrance of the hotel, its free and like 300 meters walk. You can drive your car back into the resort and pick up your luggage after checking out. * Adult pool only opens for the weekend. * No pool side service for the general pool due to Covid, however, you can get your drink from bar next to the pool.
The view is amazing, it is a multi-level property, some with panoramic view of the pacific and the area around it, others are closer to the shore. Great selection of restaurants, Mar'sel is on the fancy side of the spectrum with the best view of them all, Nelson's is more casual and cheaper ,however, they are closed on Wednesday and they seem to have nice live performances on Fridays and Saturdays. In general, all restaurants are reasonably priced and nothing is crazy ( Nelsons anywhere between 15-25 dollars and Mar'sel40-60 dollars) and the rest are about within this range. I would say the best time to be at the resort is Friday thru Sunday. The service in general is great, very clean and well kept hotel. It gets cold at night, it would be nice to sit around the firepit on the Lobby Bar terrace but they get occupied fast (Try to get there before 8 pm).

United States- front desk and phones understaffed. Waited on hold avg 10-15mins a few times - someone threw up in the lobby while I was checking in. Took staff 10min to figure out what to do - our room wasnt ready until almost 6p on arrival day - menu prices for things are a little high even for resort pricing. Could be like $2 less on most things - pool menus need a couple more options. After 3 days we were tired of it. -
Location, view, property, design, pools, water slide Overall amazing. Will be back once kids club is open and adult pool is more than just weekend. Great place for family and relaxing

United StatesWhen we arrived at checkin, tired after a 6 hour drive, Robert Boyd informed us that our reservation had not transferred over from Booking.com. Mind you I had this reservation for 6 months prior to arrival. We lost 3 hours of touring that day because of this and the anger felt by myself and my husband. We also had to return the next day to get our room that we originally booked which cause us an additional 3 hours of sightseeing. We only had four days to check out the area and my sons wanted to go to Disneyland but unfortunately we couldn’t go because of the time we lost. I feel Terranea and Booking.com should refund one day of our room cost because of this.

United Statesthe food was not great at the one restaurant we ate at - and the $50/daily rate for parking is pretty ridiculous when you're already paying so much for the room. The place was pretty great with families -- loved the smores kits and fire pits -- but the room is small for a family of four and the beds were really tiny even when I shared it with a 6 year old.
The location was unbeatable - so beautiful. the hotel is gorgeous and felt very high-end.

United StatesIt is not cheap, but we expected this. What we paid is what Booking.com told us we would pay, plus meals of course. Another negative: restaurants are decent, but they are open to the public, and as a result it is incredibly hard to get a reservation. Also, the lobby bar closes at 9pm (!!!) except on weekends. That said, most resort restaurants offer take-out, which is a great option---there is plenty of space to enjoy your meal, including a few fun fire pits (interesting conversation with strangers can be an unexpected plus!)
THE VIEW!!!! The "happy face" emoji does not come close to describing the spectacular views throughout the resort. I will miss our breakfasts from the terrace of our Ocean View room. But it is evident that care was taken so that every walking path through the resort afforded to-die-for views of the Ocean, Catalina Island, and the coastline. Service was also top-notch throughout the resort. Staff members wore masks all the time, even though most guests didn't.
