Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe shutters in our room let in lots of light at night due parking lot spot lights. The laundry was directly below us in room 218 and they bang around each morning at 6am. I'd prefer real eggs for breakfast but the meal was far above most hotels meals and the service was excellent. It's a long walk to the main part of downtown so we drove when not on our bikes.
The location was convenient to the waterfront and several restaurants. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The front desk staff were great. The room price included the use of bikes and helmets to ride as long as we wanted. It was convenient to get breakfast on site.

United StatesThere was some black specks in the ceiling and the wall by the tub was painted sloppy. It’s was two tones. The bed was not too supportive and there were stains on the box spring. A little bit of deep clean was needed especially given the prices. The prices was high but if I had more people it would’ve been ok.
The breakfast was brought to us and it was good. The place was clean enough. It’s was great to park our car right next to the casita.

United StatesWe did have 2 issues with the in room safe requiring staff assistance but we were assisted promptly
We stayed in the Jacuzzi tub suite which was very nice & roomy. The balcony was nice. Great location. Quiet neighborhood in residential area. Walking distance to State Street, Funk Zone, beach & 2 piers. The staff were very kind staff & helpful. The call to order breakfast was good with the option of in room service. The Inn reminded us of our stays in Italy. We would definitely stay here again & highly recommend The Eagle Inn. Thank you!

United StatesThey didn't mention to us we needed the key card for the fireplace and heater to work in the room. Usually, you insert the key card to operate all the electricity in the room, not just a couple of things, so we didn't figure it out until the next day. The terrace wasn't as private as we hoped.
Location and room set-up. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and private. There was plenty of parking.

United StatesWe booked a Casita for 2 nights and couldn’t have had a nicer time at the Eagle Inn. Comfortable bed, lovely spa tub and fireplace and our own private covered parking. Short walk to the Harbor and Beach - which we loved. We’ll be back for sure. Nice touch with the free refillable water bottle!

United StatesIt is an older property. Some creaky floorboards, depressions in the carpeting and a steep staircase. Nothing I could not manage but people with mobility issues should request a ground floor room. Train horn is noticeable- but probably for most of Downtown Santa Barbara.
The staff was very hospitable. The location was close enough to the train station for travelers on foot. The property is in a residential area and fairly quiet. The breakfast was tasty and just enough to get the day started.

United StatesCoffee in room and breakfast room is a bit weak. Separate coffee machine in lobby has stronger coffee. Gate to the main house is locked between 10:00 pm and 7:30 am, so plan accordingly. Breakfast on the first day (eggs and bacon) included only one strip of bacon, no potatoes. Breakfast on second day had two strips of bacon and some potatoes, but it was evident that staff was not ready for us at 7:30......no coffee, tables not set, saw only one person cooking and serving. Perhaps someone didn't show up.
San Niklas Casita is upstairs (above carport), separate from the main building, and is large and quiet. We didn't use the fancy tub, but the bed was very comfortable, and fireplace very cozy. Breakfast choices were good, although I prefer a buffet type setting. Cookies in afternoon are a nice touch, and filtered water dispenser made more sense than individual bottles of water.

United StatesThe only thing I can think of, is better room coffee (maybe Peets or Starbucks pods). We went out for coffee each morning.
I loved the large patio, fireplace, comfortable canopy bed, and the beach and restaurants within walking distance. I also appreciated the cleanliness and the staff, especially Peter. Peter was great! He was extremely helpful, attentive. and welcoming.
