Older property—nothing fancy, but good deal for what I paid.

Very reasonably priced for the area. Good location between Monterey/Cambria/Pebble beach. I liked the pool (heated—so even though it was cold out—I got a swim in), jacuzzi and sauna. Wood burning Fireplace in the room. Light breakfast included.

Quite honestly, nothing I can think of.

Fireplace with fire log. Lots of hot water with good pressure. Breakfast was more than adequate. Easy walking to all venues. Friendly and attentive staff, very accommodating. Very clean and well kept. Checked us in 3 hours before stated check in time.

Last time hit tune was with lights in the night, but this time light didn’t work.

We like atmosphere of the hotel. People are very nice. Location is very good. Kids live the pool, hot tube and sauna.

I think it could have been cleaner than it was (TV remote was grossly sticky and dirty) and the place is really outdated.

Breakfast was not good. Beds were not that comfortable. Need to update mattresses.

Location and staff were amazing. However, the beds not being comfortable and lack of any real breakfast items besides a bagel and muffin were not ideal. May stay again. we enjoyed the heated pool spa and sauna as well

Everything was fine for our purposes.

Our room was spacious with a balcony. The whole property was clean. Pool and hot tub looked nice. But, we didn’t have time or weather to try them out.Breakfast had plentiful choices of a more continental breakfast type.

Every time people have been respectful of the 9pm cut off time in the pool & spa. Because every noise in that area permeates each room from there. However, this time, for some reason, there were a few young women who visited the spa at 11pm, which woke me up. I could hear their whole conversation, laughs & all. I finally got up out of bed & went outside on the deck & Shhh'd them politely at 11:30pm. They heard & quieted down & seemed to leave the area, as it was quiet after that. Normally it's amazingly quiet throughout the whole facility & surrounding area throughout the night. As well, there had to have been an issue with the working of the spa. It noisily ran all night long as if the pump had an issue. I did sleep. But woke up at times through the night & heard it. At 7:30am after the 2nd night, a staff member went out & shut it off. By that 3rd night we were there, it was fixed. Happily.

We have stayed at Monarch Motel multiple times, usually in October & March - 2 Birthday months. The room has always been clean, the staff friendly, helpful. Breakfast is basic but satisfies our basic needs - yogurt, fruit, bagel, cream cheese, muffins, hot & cold cereal, coffee. Typically very quiet during the night & we love to leave the slider door open for fresh air throughout the night on the 2nd floor. LOVE the free log for the in room fireplace. So cozy after watching the sunset. Parking is nice to park in covered area & easy access inside. LOVE having the available luggage carts to get all of our stuff to our room efficiently. Every staff person we have seen & had interaction with has been friendly & helpful. Feels like hometown people & service. Low key & easy.

The hotel should have its own power generator.

The location is very good and the hotel seems interesting, but unfortunately there was a power outage throughout the region while I was at the hotel and I couldn't make the most of it. The staff was very kind.

Location is ideal. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable. Nice little balcony and fireplace. All the facilities were clean and functional. Continental breakfast was above average.

The room is not quite sound-proof, you can clearly hear people talking and moving on the hallway. The elevator is a bit too old and make a big noise.

The king unit is bigger than I expect. Breakfast is good! location is perfect, quiet and safe, just 5 min walking distance to the beach.
