the next door room's balcony had access to our windows. so a total lack of privacy when next room guests were on balcony we had to close curtains not to be seen

I booked a partial ocean front room and got a room on the 4th floor. My room was blocked by a wall where I could barely see the ocean and then immediately outside were AC units facing the convention center. I complained to management about this and there was nothing they could do because they had overbooked for the weekend. And since I booked through a third party (Booking.com), they could not reimburse me. I was so disappointed at the room I got, since I was looking forward to the room and the view. I also thought the 4th floor room looked a little dated for being a luxury hotel.

Beautiful hotel overall - the lobby, the pool and access to the beach. Amazing breakfast and staff.

The traffic was heavy and the drivers were rude and extremely aggressive. It would be nice to have more food selections nearby for variety.

The beds were exceptionally comfortable, everything was exceptionally clean. The place was absolutely beautiful.

They did not have my reservation. Took nearly an hour to checkin. I was “upgraded” to the room that I originally paid for. Additional $45 a day fee that was not told until check in. The beach was filled with trash everyday. So much garbage everywhere. The staff states it’s like this everyday.

I was missing a hair dryer in my room and had to wait over 30 minutes with wet hair before one was delivered to my room.

The pool area was spacious and well laid out. It allow for quiet sections when needed. The beach area was clean of debris and the service was excellent.

Most significantly, the hotel charged a $200/night security deposit in addition to the full cost of the rooms UPON CHECKIN. It was not made obvious to me when I booked that the hotel would be also assessing this fee. Apparently, certain Hilton Honors Reward Club members pay a significantly reduced nightly security deposit. But this seems excessive and unusual to me. It nearly doubled the cost of my hotel room. The security deposit is refunded after you check out but it's still something to be aware of. Also, the room service and other food options are very pricy and very limited. We ordered room service dinner and there was only a couple dinner entree options plus a cheese or pepperoni pizza option. Also, room service came delivered in a paper sack. We left the bag with our rubbish in the hall when we were finished and it was still there in the morning, which seemed a miss from the housekeeping staff. Our room smelled musty. However, the views over the ocean were spectacular. It's a very classy, elegant hotel and you see lots of fashionable people in the lobby. Also wish the shop in the lobby had more selection of "Diplomat Resort" branded souvenirs that had the location -- Hollywood Beach, FL. Since they just say "The Diplomat Resort" without a location it looks strange. .

The entry lobby is spectacular and the rooms are generous in size. I enjoyed the soaking bathtubs separate from the showers in the bathrooms. The hotel feels more like a resort than a business traveler spot, which is so typical in hotels nowadays. The pools are fantastic and the "fish eye" window in the bottom of the upper pool was fun for my kids - you can see people in the upper pool from the pool underneath. The snack shop in the lobby as well as the gift shop had fun selections of assorted items.

I booked a king with intercoatal view and I got the view of the roof. I asked if my room could be changed and was given a double room. That was the uncomfortable part of my stay. We couldnt fit on one bed comfortably. Other than that it was an awesome stay.

The restaurant food during dinner was underwhelming. I wish the ice-cream shop was still open. Thankfully, the hotel is a short Uber ride from other nice restaurants.

The hotel has an amazing beachfront location. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy free kayaking or paddle-boarding. The lobby and the gym are very modern and spacious. The staff were very helpful and met all my needs. The room was spacious and had a nice rain shower in the bathroom. The staff at the beachfront bar went above and beyond. Breakfast was delicious at the Counter Point Cafe and the Point Royale Restaurant.

One of the restaurant restriction is no flip flops allowed. I’m unable to walk in heels at the moment so that was upsetting.

Staff was rude. Didn’t clean rooms daily. When asked very rude. Couldn’t eat in main foyer even when empty unless ordering from restaurant even though it was a lounge area. Offered a free upgrade to family meme we then ups on check out charged them for it. We’re told we couldn’t bring snacks to pool area. With kids that’s unreasonable.

The room did not have a balcony, one day there was no DJ at the pool, we had to take an UBER to go to the Restaurant area on the Boulevard. The Shusi Restaurant that was in the Hotel Lobby was closed
