Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There were random ants in our bed. We definitely did not bring them with us from home as it was off season and raining. I saw a few as soon as I settled into the hotel bed

Breakfast was great with pastries from a local bakery, the room was spacious, the outdoor gardens were beautiful, location was perfect for walking around Solvang, big comfy bed

The thin walls- I could hear everything our neighbors were saying and vice versa. The most annoying thing was our next door neighbors stupid dog barking all night and morning- it almost made us leave

I wish I would have known about the construction noise before checking in. It was a bit of a nuisance when trying to get some mid-day rest. Also, I booked a loft room (room #47) so I knew there would be some stairs inside my room. However, I didn't know that it wasn't a ground floor room and there were additional stairs to get to my room. There was no elevator so it made unloading and loading the car, as well as taking my dog out for midnight potty, a chore. In addition, while this is a pet friendly property, there really wasn't any place to take my dog out for potty especially in the dark. The surrounding parking lots were unlit and had some broken glass around so I could only take him to the small grass areas near the cottages which was awkward because there were people staying in those rooms. Weird taking my dog to poop in front of someone else's room but that was the only option. Lol. Do some research on the rooms before booking and you'll save yourself some trouble.
Great location. Short walk to all the shops and restaurants in Solvang. The property was pet friendly and even had a water bowl and some complimentary treats for my pup waiting in our room. The room was clean and neat. Complimentary breakfast every morning included some hot items like sausage and eggs along with a nice assortment of pastries, cereals and bread items. The koi pond was delightful. Overall, a pretty and relaxing property.

As nice as the room was, it had only one window that could be opened for fresh air. Also , the shades in the room when drawn still let in a lot of light around the edges at night from the outside lighting.
The location was fantastic. It was away from the busy main road and quite. The room was nice and clean and roomy.

This is not the staff’s fault, but we could hear a lot of noise coming from the room directly above us from our ground floor room.
Our interactions with all staff were fantastic! The hotel is located within walking distance of many local attractions, and the plentiful breakfast options were much appreciated.

Room and bathroom were very small. Heating/air condition system, poor. Couldn't open window for fresh air. Room very hot.

A few small issues. First and foremost the pictures for our room had images facing towards the inner courtyard but our room ended up facing the parking lot. The shower had only one single curtain, no inner curtain to keep water from reaching the floor. The vent was noisy when running the heater. Lastly, the breakfast while having a large variety was not the best quality. Please note the employee working that breakfast was amazing and doing a great job but the food left much to be desired.
The room was nice and the location was ideal for exploring the small town. The staff was also very pleasant and kind. While I did not get the chance to use the gym, it was nice to have the option to work out. Generally had a pleasant stay.

Front desk staff was helpful and accommodating. They offered a late checkout of 1 hr. which was very nice of them. The premises and room were clean and quiet. Breakfast was good as well.

The door didn't not shut all the way. The fireplace didn't work. Alot of stairs with luggage.
Location and price, breakfast included. Luckily good signage so we could find our room on the top level!

The only problem was that the shower didn’t have enough pressure.
Checkin and location was great. Very cute property. Was very appreciative to be upgraded to a cottage due to a problem with booked room.

Price was high. External facilities need a revamp.
