Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyEvenings and mornings, lots of drug addicts, dealers and homeless right in front of building and along the street. In the evening, lots of noise from the street (loud music, screaming drug addicts etc.) No police around at all to control and secure the area.
Basic clean room with in-room toilet and shower. Comfortable bed. Some amenities (towels, soap, shower gel, kettle, etc.) Heating system did not work well but friendly staff provided electric heater. Walking distance to Union Square and other downtown locations. All you need if you just need a room to sleep.

PolandThe area is not very representative (a lot of homeless people, but they don't bother anyone). Noise, especially in rooms facing 6th street.
Right in the city center, so everything is within walking distance. Room of sufficient size. Hassle-free internet access. Beds comfortable. Clean enough.

United States of AmericaThe only negatives strictly related to the Winsor and not its location were that my room had an unappealing scent to it and the water in the shower didn't get hot enough for my taste. The main negatives mostly have to do with the part of town that the Winsor is located in. Coming back at night, I had to deal with men ogling and talking at me ("Your hair looks nice. What, you can't take a compliment?"). There was also a lot of poop on the sidewalk at night and a lot of people just loitering (I have my guesses as to why). The room I was staying in faced a side street that was very loud--people yelling or playing music loudly and noisy cars/motorcycles well into the night (The staff offered ear plugs, but those don't really work for me). Also, the street had decorative holiday lights that were not blocked out by the curtains. Even though the bed was comfortable, it was hard to get a good night's sleep because of these factors.
First of all, let me say thank you to the staff because they were awesome! If this rating were just based on the staff, it would be a 10/10. They were super kind and accommodating. I got a single room and the positives were that it was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were extra blankets and pillows. Also, the staff lent me a small heater because I get cold easily. For being a 1-star hotel, it was good at providing the basics.

Czech RepublicThe neighborhood doesn't feel very safe, lots of homeless people on the streets. It is also quite noisy outside, windows don't help much.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, convenient location for visiting city centre and sightseeing, good accessibility with public transport from the airport. Shared showers and toilets were also fine. The interior is not very modern but kind of cute. Great donuts next door.

SloveniaLocation of the hotel is in one of the worst in SF. Streets around the hotel are full of drugged people, so you feel very very uncomfortable while walking around. We rather took Uber directly to the doors of the hotel so we had less contact with noisy "neighbours". If you are not used to it, it can be very stressful. If SF continues like this, soon tourists will not come anymore.
It was very clean, staff was very kind and helpful about tourist attractions. I would give them 10, if location could be better.
