Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe menu is too small :( there is no food served late at night, very few dinner options on the menu and no breakfast options. You have to go down stairs for breakfast which ends quite early too. When on holiday some people prefer to sleep in so adding breakfast and more dinner options to the menu would really work well and round off the whole experiences. Not to mention downstairs booking a dinner at the restaurant, when handed the menu it’s the exact same as the lunch menu we had that day. Very disappointing:( we would look forward to returning if the food options were just upgraded
The property is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is incredible, the location is so central, we felt so safe with such great security checks through the property. The room is so clean, the towels are amazing and bed linen. The harbour and Mountain View side is just perfect. We would definitely stay here again especially if they upgraded the menu selection

United KingdomAfter two weeks of travelling, the menu for dinner felt too elaborate, but the chef was able to simplify one of the dishes for me so that I could enjoy a simple grilled Kingklip with vegetables.
It was an absolute joy to return to the Cape Grace. Friendly and welcoming, very comfortable, excellent location and so elegant! I enjoyed a good dinner and an excellent breakfast in the lovely Signal Restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

United KingdomThere is virtually nothing negative to say about this gorgeous hotel; a minor suggestion is we felt that there should be a more informative magazine in the bedroom, such as the one that was given in the courtesy car. This would be beneficial for new visitors to the country and local area. Also, the hand made, locally produced toiletries in the bedrooms; although lovely and attractively packaged, were very feminine in their fragrance, and we felt that they should be more unisex in their scent and appearance. Neither of these minor points impeded our stay; they are just suggestions.
All members of the staff were attentive to our needs at all times. Our deluxe penthouse bedroom and hotel was divinely sumptuous and luxurious. The breakfast was plentiful and served in a delightful restaurant setting. The pool area was private, yet felt like being on an expensive cruise liner. The complimentary car was a fantastic luxury, and kept us air conditioned on our local day trips. The location is simply perfect for enjoying all the V&A waterfront has to offer, as well as travelling to the local areas and airport. This stay was truly very, very special, and a large part of the experience is down to residing at Cape Grace! We were even presented with hand made chocolates, sparkling wine and a fruit basket on our anniversary. We LOVED our stay and cannot rate it highly enough.
