2 issues for us. The room we booked was a superior sea view and balcony. However our room sat directly over the roof below which spoils the view. We did ask to move to the room next door which did not have this obstruction but we were informed there were guests there already. We were the first to check in and so we were confused as the room was not open all day and not occupied until the evening. The website photos do not show this obstruction in any picture of the rooms. Additionally the first 2 days were lovely but on the 3rd day drilling started immediately next door and went on all day we had to go out. The building works were on going for some time but not mentioned on the website when booking. However I spoke with the manager and he did compensate us for this.

Wifi could do with a boost.

Luxury accomodation in prime location with fantastic view over the Ocean. Attentive Staff friendly and efficient. Rim pool used by guests and local birdlife ..to wash their fresh fish catch. Really comfortable bed. Great effort by staff to get tv going. Lovely Breakfast. Parking good.. Good sized room with quality linen and ammenities.

Only one thing - the pillows are hard but I say that only because you are asking me what I dont like and perhaps the feedback will be useful to Periwinkel. The Pro's far outweigh the Cons and I would gladly put up with hard pillows as everything else more than makes up for it.

Richard and Donovan were great, the views from the lounge/patio are exceptional and the location to the beach is outstanding. I will definitely come back for another visit. Freshly baked scones and cakes is a lovely touch that makes it feel homely and the ladies working the breakfast shift are all lovely and helpful and ready to assist in any way they can. The buffet spread was very fresh with a good selection.

I didn't get to have breakfast because I was going to do an activity and felt I could have thrown up had I eaten, so I didn't get to taste all that food. 😞

I was warmly welcomed with the best lemon meringue cake and cappuccino by the deck overlooking the sea. The pool is great - it was drizzling when I went in but still loved it. My room was big and warm too 😊 I forgot his name now, but the man with dreadlocks was really helpful on my arrival. Please give him his flowers 😄.

Unsecured parking with warning signs. Think that the parking area needs to be fenced in with automatic gates

The layout for breakfast was great and Richard very accommodating. The check in time could be earlier if one wants to pack your things out and still fit a long beach walk in before sunset. I guess it's easier off season so I am not complaining, just an observation. We will be back

We didn’t want to leave! Our experience may not have been the same if it had been busier. The pool area is beautiful but quite small, which could be an issue if lots of people were wanting to use it at the same time. The Wi-Fi was absolutely fine in the property but doesn’t work by the pool - really not in issue as the views are so fab so you don’t want to be looking at your phone!

The views are absolutely spectacular. We were very lucky that it wasn’t very busy when we got here and even had the whole property to ourselves one night. We were upgraded to a sea view room for free, which had a really lovely bathroom. The pool is incredible and we had it to ourselves every time we used it. The staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and the breakfast is great with lots of fruit. The location is great for the beach - a 2 min walk to the swimming area. It’s a short drive to the Plettenberg Bay town with lots of restaurant choices and a short drive in the other direction to the Robberg nature reserve for the most beautiful hike.

The location was one of the best in Plettenberg Bay, Staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Richard. Breakfast was brilliant every morning. The pool overlooking the ocean was just amazing. We spent 2 days just relaxing at the lodge.
