Our room original had no bedside tables, old (but clean) towels and we asked for an extra blanket that came smelling like fish and chips. But the staff fixed it the second day :)

Very awesome staff; helpful and kind

Do not think it was value for money. Certainly not value for money - For what we paid for this hotel it was not worth the money, was told we could get 40% off price next time if booked direct with them. So many lovely hotels many much cheaper, that will be our choice next year. TV in room was poor, remote not working properly went to reception and asked for help with this, was told that is all the channels there are, was surprised as service was normally 10 out of 10. Pool area small - locals could buy bands which means they they can use the facilities - meaning on occasion paying guests were limited to where to sit around the pool, also hotel used by all BA staff. same old towel old lounger issue, people doing this before breakfast in clear view of hotel staff. We paid full price, not justified for what we received.

Staff was really friendly. Breakfast excellent choices and fresh

Not my favourite option in Capetown, but has the neccesities
    • Leisure trip

The pool area was uncomfortably crowded and looking out over a parking area. Our room was situated next to another room that was being renovated and the smell of paint was absolutely disgusting. We asked at reception, but all they offered was a room spray. Honestly, we wished they had given us a different room or at least said sorry for the inconvenience. While the breakfast is nice, the a la carte food in the evening is pretty disappointing. Ordering a "Beetroot salad" and getting green leaves with 5 pieces of beetroot on it? Definitely eat somewhere else if you're staying here. Overall this place felt more like a business hotel than a cozy place you actually want to spend time in.

This place is located in Sea Point so it's a great area to explore some of Capetown's beaches, especially if you have a car (it's R 70 per night for parking). The rooms are pretty big and nice, but not as cozy as some other places we stayed in. There is a large breakfast buffet with several options and everything in the hotel is very clean.

A hotel with friendly staff in a great location
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • One Bedroom Apartment with Sea View and Balcony
    • Stayed 8 nights

We paid extra for an Ocean View balcony suite with kitchenette and a separate bedroom. It was clear that the bathroom in room 238 needed some TLC (chipped bath, chipped floor tiles etc). The room also had very little storage for clothes for a family of four. We asked for drawers to be added but all that was available were plastic storage boxes (full marks to the staff for trying though). We would have loved an early check in and did ask before we arrived but this couldn't be accommodated. We get that but, after a 12 hr flight with two children, meeting that request would have been so SO appreciated. I fully appreciate this is not a request which can ever be guaranteed. The drinks service around the pool remains slow. Breakfast can be busy and chaotic but the selection is great. I think because the hotel is now hosting more functions they have lost some additional seating closer to the buffet so I felt as though we were seated quite far away almost every day.

We love the location of this hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's great that there's always parking (albeit at an additional charge). Our children love the pool and the drinks selection (incl cocktails) is great. The pool felt as though it had enjoyed a bit of a revamp this year with fresh pool towels, umbrellas and beanbags to laze on - we loved this. I wasn't absolutely convinced that everyone using the pool was a hotel guest though and this led to sunbed shortages (one day, for example, there were children from a children's party in there). The rooms were serviced twice daily and a special call out to the amazing housekeeping service for always achieving this. We love South Africa and we had the most amazing trip. The President made it an easy holiday for us and I suspect we'll be back.

Noise which is so often overlooked in top rated hotels and is probably the biggest gripe for guests! Hallways are insufficiently sound proofed. Other room doors slamming was a regular occurrence at all hours, you can v clearly hear people talking outside the room, the hallways are almost echo like which exascerbates any noise. Better insulation on walls and soft close doors would be an easy solution. Also why do the cleaners/maintenance staff have to start so early…?

Lovely pool, not too crowded. Lots of secure parking, staff lovely l, spacious rooms

I didn't like that I had to pay for a converter. I wish I could have checked one out and returned it at the end of my stay. The boutique was quite expensive.

The staff inside and outside were friendly, warm and very good to me. The spa service and staff were outstanding. I truly enjoyed my room, specifically its location. The cappuccinos at breakfast were delicious!

We arrived at 10am because Virgin only offer one flight per day.We felt that more effort could have been made to try to get us checked into a room before 2pm.The amount of staff at the hotel looked about as high as I have seen re the ratio to guests so we felt someone could have prepared a room before 2pm as people are required to check out before 10 am or 11am.

    Very clean,very friendly ,excellent rooms.
