Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoom was fairly basic and could be noisy with other guests particularly if they were gathered in the reception area. Parking could be a problem in peak season.
The position of the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice for eating and drinking.

BelgiumThe Wifi was quite weak, my phone couldn't stay connected for more than 1 minute and I had to connect it again each time.
The hotel is right at the corner of the town square. The location couldn't get any better! Plus, there are some parking spots reserved to the hotel guests. Our room was huge and bright. The terrace of the room was superb, we had a 360° view on the harbour. Breakfast takes place at the "Berta's" restaurant just downstairs and has a buffet of cold food. Hot dishes can be picked from the menu. Boulders beach is reachable by car within 10 minutes.

ZimbabweUnfortunately the floors were really dirty, we would walk around and get black feet. There is also only one time when cleaners come for room service, we asked them to come back later and they didn't, so unfortunately we had a dirty room. Having said that the receptionist was very apologetic and made sure to bring us water and towels and take away anything we didn't want in the room.
The staff were amazing, my boyfriend got very sick while we were there and they were very helpful in making us feel looked after. The food from downstairs was amazing, especially the mussel pot, and it was nice to wake up to such a gorgeous view.

AustraliaThe breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs didn't include hot meal (just fruits and cakes). You should pay for hot breakfast additionally.
It's a really quite small hotel in the fishermen village. I recommend you to take the water-front room, you'll get the amazing view from the window. Several nice restaurants with seafood are located nearby. The village itself is quiet, safe and calm, without crowds of tourists. Bonus is cute baboons are stranding on the streets. You can walk to Boulders beach or take a car and get the Cape of good hope (20-25 minutes by car).

South AfricaCould do with an additional fan instead of aircon only, a cold fridge big enough so that you can store a bottle of wine upright inside, ice, a rechargable batterylight in the bathroom for loadshedding (urgent), and a topsheet for nights too hot for a duvet.
Seen its best days but made up for it with the loveliest down-to-earth staff and a sublime view. And isn’t that what you’d expect from Simon’s Town - a breathtaking view and tons of oldschool charm and atmosphere?

NetherlandsKettle in the room doesn’t automatically turns off, so half of the water got boiled away when we realized that :)
Nice hotel with harbour view. Many restaurants around the corner. Free parking right in front, but with limited capacity. We stayed just one night and enjoyed the room with the view. With 10-15 minutes walk you can reach Boulders visitor center. Staff were very welcoming!

Great hotel at a brilliant price. Large rooms with balcony (watch out for the Baboons!) looking out to harbour. Room was great size, very comfy large bed, fridge, coffee/tea making items. Basic bathroom with lovely shower. Very well located on the harbour front in Simon’s Town. Easy access to high street, restaurants and shops. Welcoming reception team who were friendly and helpful.
