It was difficult to choose a hotel in the area for long weekend. We booked Sugabird based on high ranking and promise to have enough space for our family. And it was right choice. We liked every moment being there. We stayed in room 8 at first. It was much bigger than what you usually get for this money in Cape Town. After it we moved to the cottage 2. It was perfect for self catering. Host was really kind and helped a lot to navigate through the area. I do recommend.

The property is BEAUTIFUL , we stayed at the cottage & it had everything , the view was breathtaking . They also had a very good breakfast & the staff were all extremely kind . Yanni their manager was very good in organising & guiding us with planning of our stay . We will visit again .

Bathroom tiles were very slippery so be extra careful when standing on them with wet feet.

Great staff and host. Great location away from the busy streets of Stellenbosch. Rooms were clean and well equipped.

Few times in my life I have been in such a nice place. The staff, the rooms, the view, it’s all so relaxing and beautiful. if you wanna disconnect and enjoy some good time, this is the right place for you. Breakfast was very much appreciated. If I will be back in Winelands, I Would go again to Sugarbird.

LOVED our stay at Sugabird so much, I wish we had booked more than 2 nights. The bedroom was perfect size, clean and had all the amenities you needed. The courtyard the bedroom looked out to was absolutely beautiful, a real “zen” area. The living rooms were vast and the pool area was tranquil bliss. Breakfast served on the patio with beautiful views was such a wonderful way to start our day and was delicious! Yanis was excellent, we had many a good conversation with him and nothing was too much of an issue for him. We took a stroll around the vineyards one morning which was a lovely way to start the day, and it’s a short drive into stellenbosch town. Uber does work there but from our experience it was hit and miss so for piece of mind I would recommend using a driver for your stay there.

We had a great time, but the room could use a little update, the bed was okay, a fridge would have been nice! But the views, the Pool and the staff made up for it.

Very friendly staff with lots of good advices and fun to chat with, honesty bar with home made wine, stunning views, great pool area, great freshly cooked breakfast!
