It was a very interesting building with a lovely feel. Parking was within the grounds and secure. The room was light and airy. There was a lounge open to all with tea and coffee as well as an honesty bar. The garden and pool were pretty. I liked being able to have breakfast outside, looking over the garden.

Absolutely nothing - It’s a truly fab place to stay.

Everything. Fiona & all the staff were totally exceptional - nothing was too much trouble. Gorgeous spacious house in a quiet area but still close to town. Great attention to detail everywhere. Very big room with a super comfy bed & the quietest air con ever! Ample parking. The most tasty breakfast cooked to order. Complimentary tea & Nespresso coffee in the communal area.

Wonderful stay, rooms were beautiful and the breakfast each morning was amazing. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Staff were incredibly helpful and even let us check in early as my partner wasn't feeling well. Will definitely return next time we are in SA.

Delightful room overlooking garden and pool. Warm welcome, lots of parking and beautiful property in a nice location.( short drive or 20 walk into Stellenbosch.) Fiona always on hand to help or advise. Drinks and snacks available during the day and an excellent breakfast- best granola bowl! Good sized pool kept very clean. Enjoyed our stay here very much.

Would have liked a choice of bread for breakfast, the large slice I got forced me to eat more bread than I would normally like and could not countenance the waste of having my leftover bread just being thrown away.

Summerwood House and Stellenbosch area were both a highlight of our trip to SA. We loved its relaxed yet stylish vibe and Fiona was an incredibly friendly and helpful host - nothing was too much trouble including getting me shoe glue and safety pins to correct a few wardrobe malfunctions 😂 The breakfasts were to die for and our daughters loved the pool and the bunnies. I’d recommend to anyone without a second’s hesitation

Fiona was very supportive from the moment I entered the gates till it was time to say goodbye. Location is perfect to rewind and on walking distance to the center of Stellenbosch and the best steak restaurant in the neighbourhood. The location is perfect to explore the wine estates with, again, perfect tips from Fiona. The swimming pool is a nice place to recharge batteries and breakfast was just lovely.

It’s a bit of a walk to town, but a pleasant walk and Uber is so cheap in South Africa you just call a cab if you’re too tired to walk back!

Summerwood is lovely! We’d stay again in a heartbeat! The lovely Irish manager Fiona upgraded us to a ground floor room with a shady patio - perfect! The pool looked very tempting, but in September it’s not yet warm enough! The house is beautiful, the garden too, and the breakfast really exceeded expectations!

Attention to detail, art, cleanliness was second to none. The host is really lovely and friendly. Great breakfast, lovely grounds. All the amenities you need with free coffee and tea facilities (Nespresso machine) at any time in the room and in the lounge. Would stay again without a doubt. Don't settle for second best!

Absolutely nothing.

The Summerwood location is ideal to walk into Stellenbosch. The garden & pool were a welcome break after the heat of the day. The room & all communal areas, like the lounge, were really good. The staff were very friendly & helpful, Fiona the owner in particular. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The star of the show has to be breakfast. The granola is fantastic & the various options of eggs, bacon, sourdough, avocado etc. were fully researched on our visit. 10/10 every time!!
