Great place to stay in Oudtshoorn - all you need (and more) to feel comfortable in a very nice house with a warm welcome, a cosy pool & garden area, good breakfast and individual advice for your trips. Gerry is the perfect host. He has a lot of excellent recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the region; not only around Oudtshoorn but he also took the time to explain some of his favorite spots on our onward journey. We will come back next time - thank you Gerry - your recommendations all worked out perfectly well and we could profit a lot from your tips & hints!

During the annual theatre festival it can get noisy (at night) since the festival hub is very close (which is also a big plus!). With earplugs we slept good. This is only ones a year, otherwise very quiet place.

Our stay at the Gumtree House was excellent. Gerry is such a great host, we loved to talk with him about the life in South Africa. He also called two restaurants for us that normally would not take reservations during the theatre festival Breakfast is superb and the room was comfortable and has everything you need. The pool was very refreshing cause the Karoo can get hot. Absolutely recommended! Thanks Gerry, hope to visit again.

The location was superb. It is close to everything, so we did not even use our car to drive around. Shops were just around the corner. The host was very friendly and accommodating.

Honestly one of the best stays I've had. Everyone that works there is exceptionally friendly, the cottages are well maintained and clean. I cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back!

Our room was very comfortable with a lovely outlook that felt quite rural, even though the town was literally on our doorstep. The best thing about Gumtree was our outstanding host, Gerry. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He is a walking encyclopaedia on Oudtshoorn, its restaurants and the attractions of the entire Karoo area. He went the extra mile to make sure we missed nothing!

Closet on the room a bit outdated, but still useful.

The host is very enthusiastic, smiling, nice guy! Very nice breakfast, all you need. Beautiful garden and nice pool. Close to city center. The host recommended a restaurant that was very nice! Good food, superb location.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was just wonderful. Very nicely designed, great value for money, centrally located, perfect breakfast and Gerry, a stunning host who takes care of his guests with heart and soul.

A bit of a musty smell in the room but I am writing this just to write at least one negative :) wasn't an issue at all

Very helpful owner (waited for us longer for the check in, advised great restaurant and booked a table there for us). Perfectly clean. Breakfast served in a beautiful space and very tasty. Close to the city center, walking distance to good restaurants.

We loved the beautiful gardens, sitting outside on the veranda and by the pool. The breakfast was delicious and Gerry was so lovely, his tips for places to visit were fantastic.

We arrived a little late after a long drive,Jerry quickly got us checked in,bags to our lovely room and a very welcome beer and gin and tonic.Jerry is a great owner, he’s engageing,friendly has great local knowledge and is a really nice guy.Our room was a really good size great facilities,amazing bath and shower.The grounds are lovely and mature just wish we had the time to use the swimming pool.Location is so convenient for a short walk to town where there are some really good restaurants.Breakfast was excellent great local produce and choices,home made bread what could be better.

The host contacted us en route with directions and advice for timings etc I et the Swartberg Pass. He was most particular and attentive. The place is lovely, well maintained, clean and thoughtfully furnished. We wished we could have stayed longer. The pool is small but clean and with a big deck surround so very functional, sunny and a nice relaxing touch after a long drive.

Gerry and his team were excellent hosts and the home cooked breakfast with freshly baked bread was first class. Gerry is the jewel in the crown with his knowledge of the local area and his excellent advice of what to see and how best to get there. A genuinely nice guy....Thank You.

What a lovely Guesthouse! ❤️ Everything that a Guesthouse should be. 🥰 I absolutely loved the dogs! 🐕 The rooms are airconditioned, equipped with a minibar and coffee / Tea etc. The pool and deck is absolutely lovely. ☺️ And a lovely outside area with a bar. Thank you Gerry for accommodating me today. We will definitely Return!

Gerry is an absolutely friendly host. He gave us tips for local activities and provided us with the best advice for our further journey. With a lot of commitment he brought the accommodation including the pool and garden back into shape. The new solar system supplies all major consumption points, even during load shedding. Also Gerry offers a great Breakfast and there is a small bar which serves you during the day.

Gerry is very friendly and helpfull with a lot of information. The Pool is very Nice and clean. Breakfast a Dream . Car was very good protected and we Got a free Carwashing before leaving.
