Beautiful views of the ocean and lagoon. Property is well designed and maintained. Rooms were clean and spacious. Angela went the extra mile for us being that we were leaving early in the morning before breakfast for a game reserve and she made an amazing lunch to take with us. She met us at 6am just before we left with lunch and some of the best cheese sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time. I feel it was due to her kind and loving nature.

Nothing, loved everything

This guesthouse is perfect for a romantic getaway, a selfcare getaway or even a family getaway and I would highly recommend a stay for any which one! My partner and I booked this as a stay over on our Garden Route Trip from Durban to Cape Town and after a disastrous night in Port St Johns the night before, we hit the jackpot with The Lookout Guesthouse in Port Alfred. A lot of work has been done on the property to include water with a filtration system so there is drinking water on the property as well as a water reserve so even if there is water issues in the area, the property is not affected. There is a communal fire pit to cook food and a weber (outside) as well as the kitchenette, so you have the option of braaiing outside or cooking inside. The Lookout is incredibly beautiful and has every amenity at your fingertips, it truly exceeded my expectations. We included the option of Breakfast in our booking and I'm glad we did. Breakfast was a two part meal with yoghurt, fruit and muesli followed by a hot breakfast of our choice. There were so many little things that Angela has provided that sets this guesthouse out from among the rest, including a full booklet of restaurants, their menu's, recommended taxi services, live music, monthly and yearly itinerary and all events in the area as well as all tourist services/sights and the history of Port Alfred. A more personal touch was added with some info of her precious pups that stay on the property. As a person who travels extensively, I cannot express how wonderful this was to have and I wish more places did the same. If only we lived closer I would definitely stay at least 5 days. Port Alfred may not be the belle of the ball in the Garden Route, but The Lookout Guest House definitely is.

There were some doves in the roof or between roofs. I think they have a nest there. They were very noisy and woke us up early hours of the morning. Because we were only staying over 1 night as we were travelling from CT to DBN, we were really tired and needed the sleep. Unfortunately we just got a few hours sleep because of it. Maybe the owner could consider moving their nest

Angela is such a lovely host, mam Ange was also very nice!! The place is absolutely stunning, beautiful views clean and excellent facilities (the units have everything that one needs in a self catering accommodation). Would have loved to stay here for our entire vacation in Port Alfred, but the other dates were fully booked.
