”First day in Tasmania, we couldn't wait to arrive to this cozy retreat, which we were drawn to from the beautiful pictures online. The wild road seemed endless to us, awaiting for the ocean to see in front of us, when the GPS told us to make a left. You encounter an idyllic miniature village, full of flowers, bushes and pathways. You soon discover that each cottage is unique in color, porch, flowers and design details, making it impossible for you to choose a favorite one.
We were greeted at the reception by the owners, kind people that made us were comfortable. Even if we were staying only one night, they did treat us with a lot of attention. They also offered precious suggestions on where to have dinner or breakfast, as well as how to take a pleasurable evening walk around the waterfront (use their map, it is very useful). You will be allured by the ocean, awaiting to be discovered just a few steps from the cottages. Do pay it a visit in the morning light, we found the landscape of a spectacular serenity.
We had 2 rooms in the Sherbourne Lodge, which were beautifully and tastefully decorated, spacious and very bright. A country feeling surrounding the whole ansamble, quiet and highly romantic. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room and bathroom spotlessly clean.
There is wifi, at start it did not work smoothly but during our stay the hosts made sure the problem was solved.
There are enough parking places, around every cottage, and they do not overcrowd the area.
Our stay in Swansea, followed by a memorable day spent in Freycinet natural park, is deeply embedded in our hearts. The beauty of this cottage ansamble remains precious to us and the bright colors and flowers near the cottages are a sight to remember.”
