Excellent customer service, staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room we had was lovely, clean and cosy, food was excellent, we had roast beef and it was amazing. I highly recommend staying here, and we will definitely come back again. Breakfast was also very nice and included in price.

We LOVE this hotel!!! ( and pub below) I think this might have been our 6th stay at the Portland in Chesterfield. The location is amazing. Literally at the edge of town. Breakfast starts at 7am - which is great for us early risers who like to eat before adventuring. The prices in the pub are cheaper than anywhere else we’ve dined in England and the staff are attentive and amazing. Normally service gets compromised when the prices drop.. but at this Weatherspoons it’s not the case. They provide the best service!! We spent 5 nights then came back for 1 more night. Our room 108 had an amazing long bath in a big bathroom with an oversized frosted window. Our 2nd room 103 had a king sized bed but no bath. Both rooms had lovely rain showers with hot water and good pressure.

It is a really nice Hotel, very nice staff, great location, quiet, a good breakfast, very good food for dinner, you have to prebook a table, but that’s not a problem.

I liked everything about this hotel, the location was good for exploring the Peak District, and was easy to get to Sheffield and Chesterfield as well. The staff were very nice and helpful, excellent breakfast, and free parking and wi-fi.
