The City Gate is located in the centre of Exeter with a traditional pub, dining room and garden surrounded by the historic city wall.

The dining room has a secluded patio for Al Fresco dining and offers a menu with seasonal locally-sourced produce with an extensive wine list and cocktail menu.

The room was excellent: clean, well designed, comfy bed, free coffee and tea, nice toiletries provided. The staff were also very nice and helpful. Previously I stayed at another hotel in Exeter and while this was a few pounds more per night it was miles above my previous hotel.

The Globe is very central and nice and quiet too albeit our room faced onto a garden bar. The indoor bar was awesome and cosy with a fireplace. The staff were very attentive. The room was, exceptionally clean and the bed was amazingly comfy and very big. Couldn't fault the service or the room. The parking was just up the road in a public parking facility but really easy to access from the hotel. All in all a good experience and we would definitely go back.

Amazing hotel, and brilliant staff, they went above and beyond to accommodate myself on my 10yr anniversary with a free upgrade. The hotel is close to the city center, clean and tidy, polite and friendly staff and lovely extra little touches. The most comfortable bed, and black out blinds. Will definitely be staying again.

The breakfast was a good variety of a cooked 'fry up' and continental choices as well as cereals and juice etc! The pool was awesome. The kids and I spent hours playing in there. I also managed to relax in the jacuzzi which was amazing!! Location was perfect. Pretty much right in the centre. We needed an extra bed and the staff were so accommodating and lovely!! I would definitely go back!
