Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. honestly, this place exceeded our expectations and deserves so much more than a 10. Aibiya is a beautiful, warm and homey place. super clean and the facilities are great and very comfortable. Yoshi and Seongmi are wonderful hosts, helped us with everything and are just fun to be around. Our room was beautiful and super comfy, we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back there soon!

Offering views of the mountain, Koya Backpackers is located in Karuizawa, 5 km from Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms have a shared bathroom. The House was so beautiful, well decorated and clean, and in the middle of the forest ❤️. The host was also very kind and open to meet and talk with people. He has a truly interest in knowing people and their background. So my stay, was amazing. Thank you very much

Guest House Raicho offers accommodation in Norikura Kogen in Chubu Sangaku National Park. Mt. Amazing place to stay in Norikura!!!! Close to the train station and also close to the start of hiking trails to Ichinose Meadow and also Zengoku Falls. Also walking distance to the two restaurants in the area that were open - Primavera and Cafe Maple. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom and shower super clean. Loved the whole look of the inn… so comfortable and cozy. The Onsen is private (you reserve 1/2hr spots) and so lovely… great place to warm up at the end of the day! Staff super friendly and helpful.

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. It's a traditional style Japanese ryokan. The room was very clean and with a good space. The hotel provides towels, yukatas and traditional sandals which can be used to tour the onsens in the village. Overall good fun. There is a cafe/restaurant in-house (the longest opening hours in the village). The staff were really helpful and friendly - providing free shuttle services to station, other onsens in the area, and snow monkeys park.

Pension Ringo-no Ki is a completely non-smoking property located in Hakuba. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. There is a hairdryer, free toiletries and slippers on site. very comfy. bath place is awesome. host is very welcoming.

A 15-minute drive from Pilatus Ski Resort, chalet-like Nomanomori offers quaint Western rooms. It features a garden with a terrace, free Wi-Fi and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Delightful cosy b&b with the most friendly, helpful and generous owners. Rooms are not huge but ample for a couple with lovely outlook over the garden. Breakfast is home cooked and delicious, served in a nice dining room with open fireplace nearby. The owners generously offered to serve us a home cooked meal for dinner one evening as we were having difficulty finding an open restaurant. It was delicious. Private bathrooms are small but adequate however they have a great large indoor bath/spa for guests which was so relaxing. Plenty of lovely places to visit, drives, local onsen etc and the owners have lots of local knowledge and information. Really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Our hosts were a lovely couple who took the time to make us feel extremely welcome. The care and attention to detail were beyond anything we have experienced previously. The Japanese breakfast was exquisitely presented. The building was beautiful, and the surround gardens were tranquil with lots of bird sounds. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Situated just a 5-minute walk from historic Togakushi Shrine, Oshi Ryokan is traditional lodging accommodation in the peaceful mountain area, which used to cater for pilgrims. Truly charmig athmosphere and accomodating service. It was a joy to stay there!

Situated along a peaceful tree-lined street in Karuizawa, Hotel Wellies offers a British country hotel experience in the highland resort area. The best place we stayed at in Japan. Judy and Brad were so welcoming, so much fun to talk to and full of information about the area, region and, indeed, Japan in general. The bar and restaurant clearly a reflection of the personality and interests of hotel owner Chris, making a fantastic change from the soulless hotels we had been staying in up until then. Dinner and breakfast were great, tasty and just the right size portions. Beautiful location with lots to do in the local area.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. A nice and cosy traditional-style Japanese ryokan, with a private hot spring bath, which we had completely to ourselves, since we apparently arrived slighlty off-season, and the place was almost empty. The owner was superbly kind to meet us at the train station, and then drove us around a bit (took us to the Snow Monkey park, and back).
