Breakfast and dinner was superb with excellent service. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The rooms were spacious and the view amazing. This is truly a dream come true kind of hotel.

We enjoyed the family bath that night and took a quick dip in the morning. The beds were very comfortable, giving us both a good night's sleep. It was great to lounge around in the supplied yukatas and winter jacket, taking in the spectacular scenery of the river. Although we can not speak any Japanese, we were able to communicate with the owner.

Sansuien features an open-air natural hot spring bath, a Japanese garden and Western and Japanese-style rooms, only a 5-minute walk from Kochi Castle. This was a true, bonafide, traditional Japanese ryokan experience! There is so much history that it justifies the facilities being older. The whole experience was wonderful, especially the kind and excellent staff.

Located in Kochi, Tennenonsen Harunonoyu features a hot spring bath. The restaurant serves Japanese and French dishes. All rooms in the ryokan are equipped with a kettle. The breakfast was really nice and the room in general meet my expectations.
