Located in a 100 year-old Registered Tangible Cultural Property, Ryokan Hostel K's House is located in Shizuoka, a 7-minute walk from JR Ito Train Station. Place, personal, atmosphere. Everything was perfect. Really cozy place to stay.

Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. The location is about a 20 min walk to the central area and about a 30 min walk to the Hida Folk Village so the location isn’t too bad if you’re planning to see both. The staff is beyond excellent, extremely polite, friendly and welcoming. We had the Japanese breakfast which was really delicious. I loved how big our room was, it was all well worth the stay.

Atami Sekaie is set in Atami, 2.6 km from Atami Sun Beach, 25 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, and 35 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Everything! The staff were so polite and welcoming. The welcome seating and drink while staff helped us check in was so pleasant, our own personal staff to show us to our room, the beautiful room with all the little details or amenities, our own traditional Yakuta to wear to meals, the private onsen and peaceful nature of the ocean view. Everything was amazing!!

Offering a shared lounge and quiet street view, Toraya is set in Gero, 48 km from Takayama Station and 49 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. Super nice, clean and cosy hotel with supportive staffs. Location is a bit far from station but very close to central area.

Set 9.1 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Yumeguri no Yado Yoshiharu offers 5-star accommodation in Izunokuni and has a garden. Large place with different corridors which makes it feel a little mysterious. The dining room is very nice with a nice garden view. Food was excellent. Onsen was very good. All in all, nothing unique but a very very good ryokan.

Facing the seafront, Izu Hokkawa Seaside Guesthouse 伊豆北川の家 is a ryokan providing a 2-star accommodation in Higashiizu. It features a private beach area, garden and private parking. The owners of the gutesthouse where super friendly, i felt like home there. They helped me with the planning of short trips around the peninsula, gave me a lot of tipps and answered all my questions. If i could, i would have stayed much longer! The village is very calm and peaceful, and with a short trainride you can go to all the other villages and places around the peninsula. I really enjoyed my stay here! Best guesthouse in japan!

Offering a garden and garden view, Nagataki is located in Nakatsugawa, 13 km from Ōi and 34 km from Japan Taisho Village. The property is allergy-free and is situated 12 km from Enakyo Wonderland. This was the perfect introduction to Japanese culture for us. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They taught us how to dress in the traditional Japanese clothes, helped us with information on the Nakasendo walk, and provided beautiful meals. We were picked up from Nakatsugawa Station and taken to the accommodation, and the following morning they also drove us to Magome to start our Nakasendo walk. They even transported our bag to Nagiso for us. The service from the staff was exceptional. The chef Masaya Yoshida made us beautiful meals for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are traditional Japanese houses with a lot of space, separate rooms for sleeping and dining and private bathrooms in the houses as well as the public onsen. The houses are in beautiful gardens and the rooms have lovely views of the grounds. It is very peaceful and quiet, outside of the main township. This was a fantastic place to stay, and a great Japanese cultural experience.

34 km from Shuzen-ji Temple in Higashiizu, Bousui offers accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and hot tub. The property has sea and quiet street views, and is 49 km from Mount Daruma.... The hotel is situated on the sea, with an uninterrupted view, a great experience.From check-in, to the onsen, and Japanese breakfast and dinner, plus afternoon tea, we truly experienced traditional Japanese service and enjoyed it very much. From the pick up at the train station to the final drop off at the train station, the two nights and three days were the highlight of our two week trip to Japan. In particular, the lady who brought the food and beverage service to the room was very touching in her seriousness and professionalism.The receptionist is also warm and friendly, very patient and explain one by one.
