Travellers who stayed in Bologna near Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) have said good things about Hotel EMI, Hotel Del Borgo and Villa Aretusi.
World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered better than in this medieval gem.
Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look out for ragú on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savour their food, so a meal can last for hours.
Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops can be found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage listed. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views over this red-roofed city.
The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square are the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088 and home to the city’s best museums.
Bologna accommodation on Booking.com ranges from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.

Bologna belongs to the most beautiful and friendly cities in the world. One of its biggest advantages is food – there is absolutely no risk that you will be disappointed, no matter which trattoria, pizzeria, osteria or gelateria you will choose. Everywhere the quality of the food is vey high. There are also splendid views and great, unique atmosphere. The Old Town is really worth seeing, you can walk there many times and you won't be bored.

The city is very walkable with a lot to see.
The city is very walkable with a lot to see. We only visited very few sights on our short stay. The food is incredible and the architecture is magnificent around the whole city. The portico's are amazing and it was really easy to walk everywhere. There are various areas to eat in that are a short walk from Piazza Maggiore and the energy the city had made us enjoy it even more. It was bustling and everyone was so nice and genuine.

A city with many impressive buildings, the Cathedral of San Pietro, Piazza Magiore, the statue of Neptune, the Cathedral of San Luca, Palazzo dell Archiginnasia, small restaurants with traditional dishes, pasta, ice cream, pastries....
Some places that I liked, I recommend Impero, Nero patisserie, Principe in centro for coffee.

Bologna is a beautiful city, full of history, museums and lovely shops and places to eat and drink. We walked for miles and miles along the porticos which the city is famous for. There are many places you can visit from the city by coach or train. We had day trips by coach to Florence, and train journeys to Ravenna, Ferrara and Modena. Venice and Verona are further but still within reach for a day trip.
We had a winter 14 day break, we enjoyed exploring at our own pace, eating fresh food at the apartment and eating out at other times.

Although we stayed 3 nights which was perfect, we could have easily stayed longer as it was the most magical place to meander the streets and immerse yourself in it's wonderful food and culture. This is a MUST destination and a visit to the top of the tower in the square is well worth the climb (although it is very challenging climbing up the 100 year old ladder). It is an easy city to get around and the information center is incredibly helpful. The food is just amazing and if you so desire then cooking in your apartment is made easy by the abundance of fresh produce available at your doorstep. We as a family felt safe walking around at night. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful city that stole my heart.

Skip Florence and enjoy Bologna! Foodie lane is fabulous!
Skip Florence and enjoy Bologna! Foodie lane is fabulous! Piazza Maggiore is my favorite piazza in Italy! You can find the best lasagna ever! Beautiful colors! friendly people. NOT overcrowded! Bologna is underrated and should definitely be on your list!
Old Bologna building reflecting city atmosphere. Located so close to Piazza Maggiore which is the heart of city. Be prepared for the smells coming outside cause there is beautiful flower shop just across the street also lots of marcados nearby. If you do not like raw fish smells be prepared cause there is another local store near the entrance of hotel, it hadn’t bother me. Staff were so helpful even they made me a small city route that I just had 3 or 4 hours in Bologna. You’ll adore rustic decoration of both room and lobby.
Camplus Guest Bononia Casa per Ferie is a hotel in Bologna, Italy that offers free Wi-Fi, parking, a gym, a 24-hour reception service, and a complimentary breakfast at the canteen. It is near the University of Bologna area and the BolognaFiere Exhibition Center.
Some of the positive aspects of this hotel are:
• The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional.
• The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern.
• The breakfast is varied, tasty, and generous.
• The price is reasonable and affordable.
We stayed in the apartment just for a night to catch an early flight in the morning from Bologna airport. The apartment was stylish and had a very cool interior. Next morning we all commented how comfortable the pillows and mattress were. As we stayed in the apartment for a very short time, we didn't have a chance to explore surroundings other than a cozy local pizzeria were we had the best pizza we had had on our Italy trip so far. In conclusion, a very clean and lovely apartment which has everything you need!
The hotel was 15 minutes walk from the station and located in the historic centre of Bologna within very easy reach of all the main sights. The rooms were simple but comfortable and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean. Free coffee and croissant provided at breakfast but if you wanted more the hotel is surrounded by good local eateries and supermarkets. We were up on the 5th floor with sensational views over Bologna’s red rooftops. It had air conditioning and a fan.
Located in the very heart of Bologna city center, you can connect with plenty of public transport in couple of minutes.
20 min walk from central station
15 min by bus to arrive at Bologna Fiera
7-10 min walk to visit the cathedrals, etc
Plenty of restaurants within 2-10 min walk
Cozy apartment, clean, coffee machine, kitchen included for travelers who want to cook by themselves but hey you are in Italy so go out have some fun and eat the excellent Italian food.
Nice modern hotel. Centrally located between train station and centre of Bologna where the action is. Easy walks to both. While the hotel looks very nice, it was quite noisy inside and could easily hear street traffic and neighbors through walls at times. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is quiet and more residential/commercial - so limited dining etc in the evening. Hotel is kitty corner to a super market which was awesome to grab waters/snacks for cheap.
Basically here for the price cheaper than an average little hotel room you get a room in a big apartment with the large fully equipped studio kitchens great bathroom and top secured location which is close to everything you need in Bologna. Also it is super modern everything is done remotely and autonomously which is brilliant. I recommend you to book it for this price/quality ratio you won’t get anything better.
It is well-equipped quiet place close to Bologna Mazzini station where it is easy to catch a train to Bologna Centrale or Prato (to transfer to Firenze), Marco was a very helpful and understanding host for us, we were able to check-in quite late (due to delayed flight), everything in the apartment is planned very well, breakfast was very good comparing to similar places we stayed in around Italy
Hotel Centrale was a great stay in the heart of Bologna and excellent value for money. It was close to the main piazza but still out of the way enough to be quiet and calm. The room was spacious with good ventilation. Breakfast was very tasty too. There are many fantastic food places surrounding the hotel, you will be spoilt for choice. Staff were great we would look to stay again!
We needed a hotel close to the Bologna airport in order to catch a 6:00 AM flight. The hotel was very efficient in this regard; the 4 am shuttle to the airport was on time, and we easily made our flight. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant the night before our flight; the dinner was very good and prices weren't bad.
Bologna never disappoints, and this hotel is in an ideal location for an overnight stay with easy access to the train station to connect with other parts of the country (Tuscany in our case)and the monorail to the airport. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent.
Recently renovated, very nice hotel in the convenient location.
10-15 mins walk to the old town of Bologna and train station.
Personel friendly and helpful, can leave bags before or after check-in.
Very clean and nicely decoreated bathroom that is not so common in Italy.
Comfortable beds.
Quaint hotel right in the centre of Bologna . The room with 3 beds is spacious and the 2 bed occupancy is a bit tight but very comfortable and clean . The staff are very helpful and warm. It’s a great choice to be able to walk everywhere. Highly recommend it.
Excellent hotel at ideal location.Close to airport and main train station of Bologna-Bologna Centrale-.The staff was very friendly and helpful and fulfilled all our needs. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and the breakfast was super. Will visit again!
Perfect hotel for exploring Bologna. Set just outside the central city, so it feels quiet and there's good parking, but also very walkable to all areas.
We booked a larger room and it exceeded our expectations.
Good breakfast, beautiful rooftop!
This hotel has one of the best restaurants I visited while in Italy. The salad was the best my wife has ever had. The owner did a great job of arranging transportation for us to the airport. The room was very comfortable and clean.
The hotel is located really close to the Bologna Airport and offers free shuttle bus. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast costed us 10€ per person and they had good variety of food to choose from. The staff is also very helpful.
A small boutique hotel in the heart of historical Bologna. Location is excellent. Room and bathroom on the small side but location and friendliness of the staff make up for it. I would definitely stay there again.
A great hotel for train travellers, within easy walking distance from Bologna Centrale, and very central to the most interesting parts of the city.
Breakfast was good.
