Cardigan Castle disappointing, not much to see, may be of more interest to somebody wanting historical facts. To me a waste of time and money. Castle virtually non existent.
Cardigan is a town that time has forgotten! For that it is pleasantly quaint. Nice cafes.
Probably better on a fine day!

Quite a quaint town during the day but at night it does come alive especially the pubs.
A really lovely range of shops and food places.
A visit to the castle is a must.
The best places are often the ones reccomended by locals.
2 days just wasn't enough for me, as just a little further out was glorious bays, beaches and mountains but more spectacular was the waterfalls

Beautiful area to stay despite the mixed weather.
Beautiful area to stay despite the mixed weather.
Went for a few walks on the coastal pathways which had breathtaking views. Cardigan was 10 minutes away by car. Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Crwst. This is a must for anyone visiting the area.
Great pasta lunch at Berlotti's. A fairly good variety of shops in Cardigan.
We also visited Theatre Mwldan during our stay to watch the latest Poirot film.

Not a great deal in the town and much is shut early in the week including restaurants and bars but there are some gems. The Copper Pot serves excellent food and the welcome at the Black Lion Hotel could not be warmer.

Cardigan is a lovely little town next to a tidal river.
Cardigan is a lovely little town next to a tidal river. The castle dominates the town. It's a good place to see the region if you prefer to stay somewhere with amenities. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants. The shops aren't 'gift' shops,. There are plenty of good quality independents. It's a bit of a drive from most places, but worth the effort.
Watch out for the one-way system. There is a large car park in town.
My family and I spent a few days here recently and we loved it. The whole place was lovely. The owners were so helpful and really nice. There was a gorgeous outdoor heated swimming pool and a hot tub outside our accommodation. My family spent a great afternoon playing the huge outdoor chess game and the kids loved the play area. The beds were really comfortable and the place was so clean. It felt so luxurious and we were sorry to have had only booked a short stay here. We will be back and would highly recommend this holiday cottage.
Stayed 15.01.22-16.01.22. The accommodation had everything needed and was of good quality at a reasonable price. The room was just the right size, clean and quiet. It's just a short walk to the town so it doesn't matter that no food is served there at the moment, as there are some cracking cafes and restaurants in Cardigan, even on a Sunday, just up the road. Its a great hotel if you just want a lovely quiet sleep, shower in the morning, cuppa and out. There is also a quality television in the room to boot!!
We enjoyed the whole experience, The hotel, room, parking, Breakfast, staff, location there was nothing to complain about but everything to make our stay a very happy stay. Thank you to the hotel staff for a very professionally run operation and very friendly interaction that goes a long way to remembering a very happy stay. We would definetly stay at this hotel if in the area in the future.
Best wishes and good luck to Cardigan Castle Hotel.
The hotel is well staffed and spotlessly clean throughout. The spa facilities are nice but smaller than photos would suggest. It was nice to have hot and cold drinks available and a chill out room. The food at the restaurant was excellent, as was the service. The highlight, though, is the lounge area, which is all table service but affords excellent views around the bay.
Superb location, close to so many towns, villages and beaches. Had a lovely stay.
The Cottage is on the site of the beautiful Penrallt Country House Hotel in Aberporth which is a lovely setting.
Short drive to Cardigan, which is what we wanted; places to eat... PizzaTipi, The Copper Pot, El Salsa, Stiwdio 3 Cafe for breakfast.
Try 'A Bay to Remember' for boat trips
We really enjoyed our stay at Flambards. Very friendly helpful staff, comfortable room with a nice bathroom. Excellent meal at the restaurant, best we have had in Wales on holiday so far! Big parking area, and I just really liked this place - just five minute drive to Cardigan town centre.
Cheap hotel in a nice area, so at the price it was you can't really complain. The room was a good size and had all the facilities we needed. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good. Cardigan is a lovely little town with lots of independent shops and cafes.
Lovely old house right in town, but very quiet. very clean and comfortable. Lovely welcoming host, Gary and Sally were very helpful and friendly with lots of good info about the area.
Location was excellent, just the top of town, were able to park across the street.
Breakfast was filling and there was a good choice of options.
Host was welcoming and friendly.
Very dog friendly, lots of walks on the doorstep.
Wonderful situation with views across Cardigan bay.
Comfortable and roomy bungalow, with all you need for a homely stay.
Aberteifi (Cardigan) is a lovely small town perfectly situated for Ceredigion and Sir Benfo (Pembokeshire). Llety Teifi is ideally situated to enjoy the town and area.
