Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location was convenient, just off the highway and walking distance from Starbucks, huge Fred Meyer, Costco, etc. Good choice for an on-the-road stay. Pet friendly with no additional fee which is really nice.

Lynden is an old fashion community surrounded by dairy farmland not far from the Canadian border with great views of the Cascades. The whole town is very clean and neat with the historic downtown area a pleasure to see & visit. There are some excellent eateries scattered about. EdAleen's dairy has the best ice cream I've tasted West of the Mississippi.

The city if Lynden has not changed much since I went to school. I’m glad the park is still right next to the Darigold buildings. Nowadays all the budget motels are full of transient drug addicts looking for their next fix. Obviously that doesn't make for a peaceful night's rest or a nice facility. But alas! The Windmill Inn in Lynden has yet to be affected by this scourge. I was so happy to find a small, quiet, and peaceful motel to stay for a few nights without having to worry about my car getting broken into or being stabbed for my wallet! It's nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and the price is right.

Hotel also provided free passes to local gym/pool and local history museum.
