Fourways Inn, hotel in Somerset

Just 500 metres from Darrell’s Wharf, the Fourways Inn has private beach access. The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, and newspaper service are delivered to the room.

We liked the complimentary breakfast, but the breakfast could have been a bit more substantial and an alternative beverage should be offered for those who don’t drink coffee or tea. We appreciated the proximity of the pool.

Somerset is a small and simple village full of the friendliest people we have ever met in our years of travel. A well-stocked supermarket plus 2 pharmacies, a liquor store, 2 take-out restaurants with tasty Bermudian food, and a fun pub with great food and drink can all be found within an easy walk. Beautiful St. James Church, The Haydon Trust, The Railway Trail, Somerset Long Bay Park and Beach and Fort Scaur are all within walking distance, too, and well worth the visit. Public transportation options, both ferry and bus, make travel throughout the rest of Bermuda very easy.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the place.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Stayed in mid April, not quite the busy season so things were quiet, but still lovely. The resort isn’t near much but there is a shuttle bus to Dockyard and from there you can get the ferry to Hamilton. The resort itself needs a little updating, but nothing major. A very pleasant stay.

Loved Somerset village and Mangrove Bay.

Loved Somerset village and Mangrove Bay. Worth visiting the Somerset Country Squire as very friendly with good food and drink. Regular buses from outside Willowbank that go into village and pass the Country Squire. Also worth staying in the bus to go to the Naval Dockyard and visit the Clock Tower shopping mall and Frog and Onion Pub. Can also so swimming with dolphins and book to go on a Whale Watch.
