The staff were so friendly and welcoming, even though I was a little grumpy after the journey from hell up from the South! They were also incredibly accomodating after an error from Booking.Com. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee for the early risers. We had the most delicious meal once we'd found our feet and the breakfast was fantastic the next morning with a generous veggie option.
Thank you Dan and the rest of the team - we will be back for sure and highly recommend.

The Splendid room we booked was comfortable & clean, and had a nice view overlooking the river. Spa facilities (which were included in the price) were lovely! We enjoyed the food in the hotel pub & thought it was reasonably priced.

Bowland bridge a quiet little hamlet that is a short drive approx 6 miles into Windermere. It was within easy reach of several pubs where you could eat. Very good location for getting to all the places that you would like to sightsee. There was walks there but unfortunately I didn’t have the time to explore the area. We ate at the brown horse which took about 8 mins to drive to. A great friendly pub with good food. The Hare and hounds in Bowland Bridge was my favourite pub. The food was excellent and great service from very attentive staff.

When we had a celebration meal in May we loved the place so much that we wanted to stay for longer this time. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts and evening meals were tasty, huge and always piping hot.
We like the place because of the piece and tranquility-it's 4 miles from Windermere so still easy if you want to be where there is more going off.
Gorgeous hotel with stunning views and excellent staff. My partner and I had a wonderful stay with you, the rooms are well equipped and extremely comfortable. The view from the rooms was stunning, as was the seating in the hotel both indoors and outdoor. Delicious food too, don’t miss out on dinner if you’re staying. Easily accessible yet secluded location really gave the country feel, truly lovely.
Thanks so much for a wonderful night away, we’ll be back.
A lovely place in a beautiful setting, very quiet and peaceful. The pub/hotel was full of charm, with decent beers ,wine and nice food. all staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented as was Dinner, with a nice menu on offer.
The rooms were of a good size and nicely furnished and decorated, the bathroom was nice with an attractive bath and good size shower.
Great staff, food, beer and accommodation.
Menu is excellent, and the breakfasts are excellent too.
We couldn’t fault our 4 nights there.
We both come from a hotel background, and we are a bit fussy about where we stay, but this was the 2nd time we have stayed, and we will be back.
relaxing bar with open fires. food was really good and one of the best breakfasts we have had. like all hotels they are short staffed but the manager, Helen and her staff worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable…… and we did!
This hotel was a wonderful find. We stayed overnight on our way from Wales to Scotland. We could not fault it the room, the service, the evening meal and the setting and ambience of this hotel was first class.
