Beautifully clean and fresh. Very comfortable and had a really good night’s sleep in the huge lovely bed.
Although on the High St it was very quiet and perfectly located for exploring Dunster. Owner very friendly and helpful.

I could quite happily have spent 2 days just in Dunster then...
I could quite happily have spent 2 days just in Dunster then used it as a base for the wider area - the beaches and even Cheddar gorge. We ate dinner at the Luttrell Arms which was nice but Reeves looked good too. We had coffee and cake at Tessa's Tea rooms and bought stuff in the independent shops. Iys a very old village with more grade 2 listed buildings than anywhere else in England. The Castle and grounds are always good to visit. We had a good choice of walks in the surrounding countryside. Dunster is on the edge of Exmoor National Park, which imho is the most underrated national park in the UK. The views are magnificent, with small cozy towns, beautiful nature, good roads for walking, cycling and mountain biking. Dunster itself is a small cozy village with a proper Castle, although through shortness of time we didn't visit it.

The small town has a lot to offer - lovely walks around the castle, good restaurants to choose from, interesting shops and a superb art gallery with a labrynth of beautiful works of art. A must has to be the West Somerset railway which you can catch the steam train from Dunster station - Dunster Beach is close by where can walk to Blue Anchor along the stunning coastal path. Hathaway Restaurant is quirky but great food. Yarn Market Hotel offers a good menu in homely surroundings.

The location is convenient to everything, and the car park behind was a pleasant surprise! The rooms were stylish and super comfortable (a glass of sherry before bed was delightful), and breakfast was delicious. Our son was with us and had an interview over Zoom and the wi-fi worked perfectly. We could not have been happier with the hotel and the owners—just so accommodating.
