Lovely small house in the centre of Romsey. Close to the pubs, restaurants and shops. Really nice, clean and cosy. Comfortable bed, we slept very well. It’s located on the site of the road so take ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Parking on a few minutes walking distance. Good and friendly contact with Liz the owner. Would highly recommend.

We stayed only 1 night as we were attending a music event at The Plaza Theatre. We visited the Memorial Park and Abbey before looking around a some of the independent shops. The bar food was delicious in The White Horse and we had an excellent coffee and a panini in The Exchange.

A very quaint english market town.
A very quaint english market town. Historic pubs, excellent shopping options. Daily rotation of vendors in the market square selling everything from plants, vinyl records, clothes to fine baked goods and olives.
Beautiful at Christmas time. Take a day trip to Salisbury cathedral, home of the Magna Carta.

Location was beautiful. Door was left open for us on arrival with candles lit and Prosecco on ice. Hosts were opposite so nearby if needed. We were made to feel comfortable and were contacted in advance on how to find the accommodation as it is in a very rural and secluded location. The barn is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and every aspect is well kept with unique decor. We made the trip to visit Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park however this would serve as a great base to explore any of the big towns or cities nearby.
We had a lovely stay at Richmond Lane and would definitely come back again! Julia was a great host and made us feel so welcome, we thoroughly enjoyed her company! The location is just a little outside of Romsey, however, it's only a 20 minute walk into the centre of the town along the canal path which was an easy trek. Of course, it's a guest house, not a hotel however, we were pleased to find a lovely garden, a fridge in the room and some nice attention to detail, all in, a great stay and no complaints from us!
We were self-catering so the breakfast question is not relevant.
The format of the question about transport did not allow me to give a correct reply. There were three of us of whom two travelled mainly by train and one travelled by car.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were delighted with the property and its character. It also is a perfect location for access to the town. Romsey is also a great base for visits in this area.
The rooms were newly decorated , very clean and modern. Shower was powerful and easy to use. Breakfast exceptional bacon and sausage excellent - we had an evening meal too which we all really enjoyed too. Staff friendly and welcoming .We had a dog and the room had french doors so had direct access out side which was very convenient. Great place would definitely recommend and return if in the area again.
Beautiful barn, tranquil, peaceful, wonderful, with everything you need, set in the most beautiful garden. Excellent location for Southampton, New Forest, we also visited Exbury Gardens. Bed extremely comfy, such a large room. Claire, the host, her welcome was heartfelt, such a wonderful, kind, friendly lady. We will be returning, The Barn is such an awesome find.
Clean, modern en-suite room situated in a building adjacent to the pub. Room fairly basic, but comfortable bed/linens and nice towels. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Excellent breakfast (an optional extra) - custom made to accommodate your preferences. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Excellent location with good access to local eateries. Ample parking and off road parking. The hostess is delightfully well informed and the decor reflects her exquisite tastes. We found it useful as jumping off point for our cruise from Southampton without the hassle of traffic. We would both recommend.
This is a quaint converted barn that has old world charm. The gardens are gorgeous. This was great place for us to work during the day and go visiting the countryside in the summer evenings and weekends. Stonehenge was about an hour drive away, Southampton 20 min drive.
super place close to family wedding and Romsey / Chandler’s Ford and easy to get to Southampton. breakfast was lovely everyday couldn’t fault the place. receptionist even brought out our extra luggage when we were leaving after a 3 night stay.
Good location for what we needed. We had our wedding reception down the road and used the hotel for the weekend.
Lovely bar area.
Will visit the pub section again but will not be using the hotel in the future.
A nice hotel set centrally in an attractive town, with a mixture of modern design and real old world charm. Welcoming staff and a comfortable room at an good price. Breakfast was beautifully presented.
Friendly staff, good room, wide choice of food for lunch and dinner, excellent breakfast, ideally situated just off M27 and for visits to the New Forest, lovely Romsey Abbey, and beautiful Salisbury.
