FAQs about hotels in Honolulu

A True Water Sports Paradise

Standing proudly on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu is the Hawaiian capital, meaning "a sheltered bay." Spreading along the white sandy beaches and supported by the strong back of the volcanic mountains, it's a real island paradise.

Honolulu's most popular and famous district, Waikiki, features the stunning Waikiki Beach decorated with hundreds of surfboards, palms and lounge chairs. It’s also a center for the city’s nightlife and shopping, especially along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues.

As the most popular activities in Honolulu include surfing, snorkeling, canoeing and other water sports, it's no surprise the city has a number of sandy beaches. Try Hanauma Bay, a crescent-shaped beach with rolling, green hills behind it.

For fans of hiking and exploring, nature awaits at Diamond Head Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone where you can admire the panoramic view of the city. There is also the Bishop Museum with the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts and the Waikiki Aquarium with over 490 species of marine fauna and flora.

From hotels near Honolulu International Airport to hotels near the beach, Booking.com has plenty of properties, from cheap to luxury, for your Honolulu trip.

    Crowded, but fun.

Crowded, but fun. Reminded us of a "smaller" version of the LV strip. Uber worked well for getting to Pearl Harbor and we used a private tour company for Hanauma Bay. Fun to walk by and visit the chichi stores, but then happy to visit the north shore and chiller Oahu sites.

Everybody knows the Waikiki Beach area of Honolulu is very overpriced & unnecessarily so. This hotel is by no means cheap for a stay per night but is the best value for money in that area & the staff are excellent. Add to that a free continental breakfast & how much more spending power staying at this hotel puts in your pocket for the vacation, it takes a bit of beating for Waikiki. It was a very pleasant stay. It is not a spectacular hotel, but very nice for the area & very well positioned for a stay in Waikiki.

Close to the main beach. Very nice service at the desk. Water refills near reception. Breakfast included in the price and remember Hawaii is expensive. Microwave in the lobby. Tea and coffee options. Hotel gives free of charge equipment to the beach. Big room, lots of space in the bathroom to put cosmetic around . Hair Conditioner in the shower. Perfect view over the ocean and Diamond Head mountain. Unbelievable top city spot for best tuna salmon poke we have ever eaten just on the cross corner of the hotel.

It served my purpose very well. So close to the beach, friendly staff. They offer daily room cleaning, have beach towels, and an onsite laundry. Nothing fancy. Just somewhere to shower and sleep. I don't go to Hawaii to stay at the hotel. There's a wonderful little Korean restaurant downstairs where I ate a ton of meals. Also nearby low priced restaurants and ABC mini mart, which is a traveler's best friend. I will definitely stay here again. Location, Location, Location.

Location right opposite the Hilton Hawaiian Resort and 10 minutes from the beach. Plenty of eating places close by. We had a great American breakfast at the Korean restaurant next door, not cheap but then nothing is in Hawaii these days. Hotel is part hotel and part rented apartments. Room service was not available when we were there and I would have appreciated being told when I made the initial booking. Reception and concierge staff were excellent.

Location is right in the middle of Waikiki Beach 1 block from the sand! You can't get a better location especially for this price! Room is clean and comfortable. Not a resort but not a motel it is somewhere in the middle. It's a no frills hotel. Again, for this price I would stay here again and again. They also have the lowest resort fees in all of Waikiki. This was at least 30% cheaper than any AirBnB place I could find and a much better location.

The historical room we had on the 6th floor was simply stunning. Our view of the water, Diamond Head and the beach was breathtaking and the location of the hotel in Honolulu is second to none. We honestly didn't want to leave the hotel it was that lovely. Definitely the highlight of our honeymoon. Azure restaurant was one of our favourite meals, get there early at 5.45pm to get the best seat right on the sand.

Excellent budget accommodation in the heart of Waikiki. Clean comfortable rooms with all the facilities you could need. Reese, the hotel manager is exceptional. I was sick during my stay and he made sure we could stay in our room until I'd recovered and he even made sure we got to the airport after our shuttle bus failed to show up. If we ever go back to Hawaii this is where we'll stay - Thanks Reese.

We loved the position of the hotel! We had a corner room overlooking Honolulu Zoo, the beach and Diamond Head. The hotel backs on to the touristy area of Waikiki so, although we weren't far from anything, we felt like we were getting away from the crowds. We loved the simpler, beachy, retro feel of the hotel. The concierge was very helpful assisting us to book a tour of Pearl Harbor.
