DO NOT like your road laws, you get pulled over if NOT following the flow of traffic, speed limit 70, if traffic doing 80 you best be too, your own ramps are not long enough to merge into traffic properly. Many times they just try and push you right off or into other traffic, From TN thru to Abilene was so heavy with construction and rude drivers of get off or go, I came home early.

I liked downtown because there wasnt too much traffic -parking was free and I love old buildings especially vacant ones. Buffalo has some of the best but these were nice. I like when places look like throwbacks to the 1940s- 1950s . I didnt see all of downtown but the parts not far from the courthouse. There is an old rr building for sale but they want way way too much - like 40 times the assessment. I was well over 100 degrees that day so I didnt do too much walking.

This place should not be a consideration for staying because of their business practices and the type of people that hang around there. There was a problem with my booking date and they didn't want to help me. When they did they wanted to change the rate which was ok but when I saw the printout with the new price it was even more than what I was told. After looking at the price on the internet I noticed that the price had doubled and I decided not to stay there and wanted my money back. The reason they didn't give me my money back was that I didn't cancel the reservation 24 hours before the date of arrival. This is a shady place.

The property was HORRIBLE, there was no hot water (receptionist said let it run for 10+ mins to get hot water), which there was no hot water, the bathroom door didn't close, the property was filthy, for what they charge for rooms this was very disappointing. Not up to the standards I would expect from a Wyndham property. This was the first and last time we will ever stay here, and would never recommend this property to ANYONE!

Abilene is an active and very friendly city.
Abilene is an active and very friendly city. The people are always willing to make suggestions for sights or restaurants to eat at. Traffic is never a problem, even though around 5 p.m. it might flow a little more than usual. Nice grocery stores, I would recommend "United", several locations. Also, the city has a nice zoo to visit and the Pioneer Museum are some informative fun things to do. May I also suggest "Copper Creek" restaurant for dining or maybe you prefer bar b que, Joe Allen's is an excellent selection, some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The roads and highways are laid out quite simply and it is very easy to get around the city. If you have time, go out by Dyess Air Force Base which is towards Tye, TX, there is a road that is fenced but you can pull over and watch the very large majestic B-52's do touch and go's. Oh one last place to eat would be Little Italy for Italian, or maybe Abuello's right across the street for Mexican food. You can't go wrong. Nice city, you will enjoy all it has to offer!! Becky
We don't generally stay in budget hotels because you never know what you're going to get but I'm so happy we did this time! My primary concern with hotels is their cleanliness and The Whitten did not disappoint! I knew we wouldn't be spending much time in our hotel rooms - just needed a place to sleep - so the amenities weren't important to us. Our rooms were a good size, had cold AC, the bed was comfortable and it was clean!! Excellent value for the money and the perfect location near ACU and Walmart!
People hanging out by stairs, empty bottles on the stairs, beer caps on the ground and stairs, drinking, smoking, loud music, talking. Mold over ceiling in shower. room appeared old, but it was fairly clean. Overall it had a unsafe feeling. I contacted booking .com and front desk staff. I was able to get a refund as I am sure the staff was aware of the situation at this hotel. Chris at the front desk upon check in was really great.
The service was awesome, especially after I mentioned that I had 1.4 million views on Google Reviews! The breakfast was exceptional and the pool area, though needing a coat of fresh paint and some new cushions on the furniture, was nice and clean. If you are looking for asthetics, pay the $125+ for a fancier hotel. If you want clean and a good breakfast as well as a comfy bed at an affordable price, stay here.
The app online said they served breakfast when I went to the hotel and checked in they said they only offered coffee. (No Breakfast) The room had roaches when I asked for a 30 minute later check out front desk was very rude and told me I should of asked yesterday. I’m still waiting after a whole month for my room Deposit refund I will never stay at this facility again or refer anyone!
It was better than what I expected in some ways, the hotel has old furniture (which I don’t really care) smells weird but it’s comfortable, the pool is nice, has good breakfast, perfect location, good coffee and good price if you don’t have a dog because the dogs fee it’s $25, more than any other pet friendly hotel that I know.
No breakfast was offered. The hotel was a living apartment setting for blue collar workers! The hallways reeked of awful scents! The air conditioner did not work! The room was not clean! This speaks terrible of Booking.Com to have this facility offered on your behalf!
The location was excellent, being just off the main highway. Additionally, we had restaurants close by in what is a quiet district south of Abeline.
The hotel rooms were great, the staff were most helpful, and the hotel facilities were generally well maintained.
The stay really sucked it did not meet my expectations at all. I did not get the room I paid for . The hotel was under construction. There was no breakfast available I was supposed to be refunded for this and still have not been
privacy and easy access. bed was extremely comfortable. loved the full kitchen. much more cozy than a hotel room it really topped off my trip to Abilene 🤠
