It was my first stay at King Sitric but it won't be the last. The rooms are in excellent condition/cozy/comfortable and offer everything you need while staying in Howth. The breakfast was outstanding ( fresh fruits& bread and the menu offers loads of options to choose from ( fish or classic full Irish ). Its location opposite the harbour and bars/shops nearby make a stay extremely convenient.
Last but not least. The staff ! Kind and helpful!!! Special thanks to Gareth who saved my life ( when suprisingly I got a sunburn and didn't have an after-sun lotion at hand).
Gleann Na Smol, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is set in Howth, 1.7 km from Burrow Beach, 11 km from Portmarnock Golf Club, as well as 15 km from Croke Park Stadium.
Boasting a 21-metre swimming pool, a spa bath and a steam room, this 4-star hotel is just 10 minutes’ drive from Dublin Airport.

The waiter named jack in the bar was exceptional, he seemed to be correcting the mistakes of others, was very polite and summed up what an Irish welcome used to be like. He also seemed to be doing the work of the other three waiting staff, I got lucky that he was serving my table as the tables either side of me received the wrong order. As a business in an affluent suburb of Dublin, You should be trying to set a higher standard than what I experienced (Jack excluded).
White Sands is a deluxe, family-run hotel located in the picturesque coastal village of Portmarnock in County Dublin. It offers a lively Irish pub and free Wi-Fi for all guests.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of ‘The Velvet Strand’, one of Ireland’s most stunning stretches of uninterrupted coastline - the historic Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links, once the family home...

Staff were excellent. Food was generally very good. Black pudding at breakfast was not up to Stornoway standard bur otherwise ok.

Host was super quick to respond to my messages.
My husband and I arrived fairly late in the evening after being on Howth Island for dinner, it was so convenient not having to check in with a physical person. We could come and go as we pleased. You have complete privacy.
The apartment was perfect for our needs. The décor is very stylish and comfortable, with special little touches that the host provides like a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules and milk which was much appreciated, plus an added bonus of large fluffy bath towels (an absolute luxury, rare to find when you are travelling).
The location is perfect, you are not in the centre of Dublin, yet its easily reachable by bus, or a 30 min drive by car. Perfect if you plan on visiting Howth, as its only 10km away and a very easy drive. I highly recommend spending some time in Howth if you like the seaside, cliffs and nature.
I wish I had found this accommodation earlier in my search, it is so perfectly located for what we needed that I would of loved to have spent an extra night.
Gracefield in Artane features accommodation with a garden. This family-offers free WiFi. Dublin is 6 km from Gracefield, while Bray is 21 km from the property. Dublin Airport is 6 km away.

Miss Catherine is amazing, the accommodation is very clean and comfortable. The location is good, it has lots of buses and trains stations closer.
Howth is the place to stay when visiting Dublin. Just 30 minutes by train away from he city centre, it is a small but beautiful town on a penninsula surrounded with cliffs and seagull collonies. Many great pubs and restuarants, fantastic views and, contrary to Dublin - the calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can really relax.

I did not know what to expect as we booked last minute to go to a concert in Malahide. Howth is a beautiful seaside town with lots on offer (restaurants, bars, cafes etc...) We hope to return in the near future to spend more time there. Great for couples & families. A bit hilly in places so you need to have good mobility if you want to explore or stay slightly out of town. I visited a beautiful cove in the morning time where there were lots of swimmers in the sea & it was so peaceful...great way to start the day.

Location: This was the first time we were setting foot on Irish soil. King Sitric in Howth was the first place we headed to from Dublin Airport. No regrets! So much to see and do in Howth. Charming views in every direction. So much to take in.
Transport: A short taxi ride or walk to the train station. Buses stop less than 100m from the hotel. I think one even passes right in front of the hotel.
People: The Irish are the best. Everywhere, they seem to be so welcoming and genuine.
Hotel and Rooms: Interesting history. It should be promoted more. Pleasant and friendly staff. Our room was steps from the ocean. What a lovely welcome to a lovely country. The room had nice little touches. Loved the in-room Nespresso & chocs. Nice hot showers.
Food: Amazingly fresh seafood in the restaurant downstairs for dinner (apparently caught by local fisherman in the sea right outside our room) and upstairs for guests' breakfasts; the menu items were well-chosen. Fish is also an option for breakfast! Found it strange though that so little bread is given, as there's so much rich and flavourful sauce to lap up. We even paid for more bread, but again it was just one tiny slice of bread. Maybe it's an Irish thing?
Pricing: We found Ireland in general to be very expensive, from hotels to food to shopping.

Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants.
Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants. Everything well maintained. Initially had trouble getting a pre dinner drink as most bars.taverns are booking their tables for diners. We were put out in the cold in O'Connells! Finally hit on The Harbour Bar which was lovely.

All the pubs serve the same type food ...very dated - fish and chips all that beautiful fish in batter...such a shame - there would need to be more variety without having to avail of fine dining. The food offerings do seem to be stuck in a time zone, needs to be more vegetarian, vegan etc....
However, Howth is beautiful and well worth a stay.
The owner was so kind and caring. The location was amazing! Close to the cliff trail. Enjoyed the fresh sea air. The decor of King Sitric is so beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room is well equipped with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and toiletries. Shower with plenty of power and hot water. Make time to have the yummy breakfast in the hotel dining area over looking the ocean. Also their restaurant food was amazing. It is a short walk from the train station through beautiful Howth village. Everyone is so friendly their.
Absolutely wonderful, family owned property encompassing both the accommodations and restaurant (East). The rooms were incredibly clean, well appointed and with beautiful sea views. Breakfast was included and outstanding. East, which is the seafood restaurant downstairs, provided one of the most memorable meals in memory - I highly recommend the oysters, Dublin bay prawns and crab. Simple and perfectly executed. Thanks to all at King Sitric who made our stay so memorable. Howth is a gem, and we can’t wait to return. Sláinte!
Sean is helpful, friendly, informative, and genuine! You can tell he loves what he does!
His breakfast is amazing! He alwYs knows the weather for tou and local goings on as well, to help you plan your trip! A stoat, hedghogs and a seagull named Henrietta, who visits the kitchen window, live on site and add to the charm!
Beds are comfortable and rooms are exceptionally clean. The location in Howth is near a bus stop and a short walk to a train station. Dublin is easily accessible but howth is a quiet escape from the hustle.
Sean, the owner, is a true gem. Salt of the earth—kind, helpful, generous—he was a joy to meet and took fantastic care of us. We arrived very early-long before check in-and he cooked us up an amazing full Irish breakfast before we headed out on a hike while our room was being prepared. I would recommend his place to anyone traveling to Howth. Another reviewer summed it up well—it’s like staying at your favorite uncle’s home while on vacation. We felt like he was an old familiar friend within minutes of meeting him.
The house was in an amazing location in Howth. The house was wonderful and extremely well equipped for every eventuality, including a prolonged power cut on Thursday night - we were able to find night lights and light a fire to keep warm while the electricity was out. The house is comfortable and very tastefully decorated you can tell that utensils, homeware etc. was good quality. There was no need for anything, everything that you needed for a visit was provided.
If you want to experience a home style cozy atmosphere followed by a lot of funny stories from the owner whose name is Sean, this is the place to be!
Very calm place but waking distance to the main restaurants, harbour and cliffs.
Home made Irish breakfast in the morning. And just whatever question you have you can ask Sean. Only there again if visiting Howth!
We had the loveliest time at Gleann Na Smol! Our host was a delight/ His welcoming hospitality went over and beyond our expectations. The breakfasts were fabulous, the conversations were a joy, and the added time he spent with us assisting us with the are was extremely kind. If we return to Howth, we will certainly stay here again!
Nice small hotel right by the sea. Friendly staff, nice breafast served with your own choices. Dinner food at restaurant was good, many sea food options. Nice to walk by the sea to watch sunrise and good spot to start walkibg paths by the sea. Can recommend, small size of a hotel makes the service personal.
But of a tardis, looked small from outside but tons of space. Properly comfortable and stylishly decorated. Perfect location for us, right near the harbour with all its bars and restaurants, short walk to the DART for access to Dublin centre.
Location fantastic, pretty village, easy to get into Dublin centre. Hosts very flexible on our arrival, considering our plane was delayed 3 hours and we arrived much later than intended. Clean, spacious apartment. Would recommend.
quaint place and right along beachfront in one of Ireland's most charming seaside villages. close to a great vista. the food was great in the town and there were two memorable pubs with lovely, friendly atmosphere..
Perfect location facing the ocean and easy walk to all restaurants and stores in Howth. We watched a sunset on the pier and sunrise from our room. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean and efficient room.
Superb Location. Clean comfortable quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast. Howth is a little gem, not to be missed when visiting Dublin. We really enjoyed the cliff walk, incredible views!
perfect spot for exploring Howth on foot. amazing seafood and a good pub atmosphere. room clean and comfortable. staff very helpful. easy and plentiful street parking nearby.
Great location, minutes to the Howth cliff walk, and walking distance to the harbor downtown. The host was friendly and pleasant.
It worked for a one night stay.
