Very nice town, which was quite suprising for us.
Very nice town, which was quite suprising for us. Alongside the rhein river. Many classical half-timbered houses. Nice surroundings.
Very quiet. Not many (any?) open restaurants on a monday evening (passing through, just for one night).

We found Bacharach via online reviews and recommendations. It was all it was described to be. Beautiful, authentic, less touristed and the locals were extremely friendly. Would recommend a train trip to Bacharach to experience the beautiful views on the Rhine.

It was very quiet, although we expected that it should be high season and therefore busier. It is a beautiful old town and well worth visiting. We were disappointed that KD had cancelled boat trips up and down the river on the day we were there, so there was less to do than we had planned.

For us, Bacharach was a visit to a totally charming village of numerous old homes ( some dating back pre-16th century, yet well-restored and maintained) and cobbled streets.
During our stay, we walked:
- up to the castle above the town - strenuous for us-we are both in our 70s!
- about 3km towards Kalb (sited on the opposite side of the Rhine;
- about 6km up into the hills above Bacharach.
Each of these walks were highlights of our five-day stay.
In summary, we had the benefit of a very comfortable apartment, excellent, thoughtful hosts; combined with a visit to a beautiful town.

The owner was very friendly helpful and accommodating.
The owner was very friendly helpful and accommodating. Rooms were adequate for our stay, with balcony, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a varied selection of choice.
they accommodated the parking for our Motorcycles next to the hotel, which was perfect.
Location was excellent, and the town lovely, would have liked to spend an extra day, but travel arrangements did not allow.
It was very close to the town, which was very convenient as we could walk around without using our car. The apartment was very large, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen was very large as well and had everything we needed. Besides the property itself, Bacharach is a small town with many historical buildings. It has a nice walking trail where you can enjoy beautiful views. If you are going to be driving, the entire area is quiet beautiful due to all the small towns along the Rhine.
We had not initially booked for breakfast, but did after we arrived. It was well worth the price, and there are not a lot of cafes in the town that open early. The entire place was very clean, and the triple room was roomy, with the single part having its own sink - they shared a balcony with a view. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us a lot of information for touring nearby as well as recommended some a couple of restaurants in town - we ate at them both and they were delicious!
My husband and I loved our too-short stay at this beautiful hotel in Bacharach. The staff were very accommodating (we had to catch an early train the last morning and were able to check out without any problems the day before).
Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. The room, an unexpected (and fabulous) upgrade, was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The shower had wonderful heat and water pressure. We can't wait to return!
The room was great. Nice outdoor patio (shared space) to use as well. Complimentary breakfast was very tasty. You really couldn't ask for a better location in Bacharach. We were right on the main road and amongst all the shops and restaurants. They provided a refrigerator and fan in the room. Super lady who helped with breakfast every day. Garage parking was nice too.
The hotel is located right next to a busy mainline railway, so it is quite noisy - good for people with hearing impairment or who bring earplugs.
The hotel itself is a bit run down but it was fine for the couple if nights that I was there and it is a really interesting historical building. directly on the old town wall.
What a lovely hotel, super helpful staff and a basic but nice room. Good shower and the bed was very comfortable. However, the best feature of this hotel, and I speak with considerable experience, was the breakfast! Loads of fresh scrummy breakfast stuff. I wanted to eat everything!
We had a wonderful and positive experience at Ferienwohnungen Kachel. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, with everything you could want from a breakfast. We had a wonderful hostess, who provided us with excellent information regarding the area around Bacharach.
The hotel is located just outside the centre of Bacharach, within walking distance but outside the busy areas. So ideal!
The hotel itself is pleasant, with a homely layout and comfortable rooms. Reception by the owner was most friendly.
The breakfast was good.
The terrace of the hotel is beautiful on the old Roman wall, overlooking the picturesque view of the Rhine. The cuisine from their kitchen are fantastic but it has to be booked in advance given the popularity. All staff there made my stay like home.
Thank you!
Everything! Stunningly beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice and constant replenishment. Evening food in the restaurant was also excellent and reasonable in price.
Location, location location! So easy to get around - all transpiration 2 minutes walk from hotel. Get a city pass at the train station. In fact if you are flying in, take the train to the main station and walk the block. Save yourself about 50E.
standard room is good size for a couple. breakfast was great with fresh bread and german snacks.
Location was perfect right in center of bacharach on a corner point.
Dogs are no problem always a good plus!
Great breakfast buffet – well above my excpectations (this would be a great breakfast even at a large hotel, but the hotel is small)
Very good location in the centre of Bacharach
Nice, thick pillow
A warm welcome and safe storage for our bikes.
A lovely hotel with a clean, comfortable room with a great breakfast.
Great location in the centre of the town with plenty of places to eat nearby
Small hotel. Rooms basic but large and clean. No air con so may be hot in summer. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. In the heart of Bacharach so great for wanderingto bars and restaurants.
it was so old tradition boutique hotel and clean
- the hosts was helpful and when we went to breakfast it was almost finished but they ask us if we need something and they do it .
Self check in is handy if you arrive at non business hours, but I received too many messages from the hotel for that.
Location is ok, there is a parking in front of it.
Zur Fledermaus was an absolute hidden gem! Sonja was a fantastic host! She took time out of her day to help us plan our trip in Bacharach. Definitely worth the stay.
