We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbaye de Talloires. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We used the spa, ate at the restaurant and rented the electric bikes. So much to do here even without summer weather. Highly recommend

Thones is beautiful.
Thones is beautiful. The surroundings are magnificent, there is lots to do in the vicinity and the people are extremely friendly. The French alps are gorgeous, and its a much calmer atmosphere than down the valley in Annecy.ShariNetherlands

The road on which the hotel is located is quite busy but you don't notice that after a while and if you keep windows closed. Accessing the room was interesting - we sort of had to figure out the location of our room ourselves but it was okay. The hotel has an elevator - which we saw after lugging luggage. Again, okay.

The views were incredible and it was so relaxing sitting on the veranda in the evening listening to crickets and watching bats. The host was very kind and has plenty of information. The bed was comfortable and the blankets were super cozy and warm. The owners were sweet and friendly. They can offer dinner & breakfast at an additional cost (we didn't partake but nice to know it's an option).
