I liked the Beatrix Potter museum, Holehird Gardens, and Stagshaw gardens, Hayes garden centre up in Ambleside. Booked an amazing day trip with Mountain Goat tours that took us around ten Lakes of the Lake District with our amazing guide Mark Shipley. the restaurants I went to was Francine's up in Windermere, Urban Food House (superb) and the Magic Roundabout. I was within walking distance of everything in Bowness. I probably would avoid booking in the school holidays, was very busy everywhere. the weather was very changeable but it is the wettest area of Great Britain.

Lots of shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Can take a boat trip on the lake around the islands or go to Ambleside. Nice place. Beware it can be hilly if you have mobility issues. Overall nice place to visit.

Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea.

Visiting Bowness in November was a great idea. I have been in the summer before and it is so busy it is unpleasant and parking is difficult. I would advise visitors to choose a hotel with private parking - preferably free, some charge for parking - leave a car there and walk to town or to the lakeside. Also be aware that Bowness is built on a steep hill and not all roads have pavements.

The town and area around Bowness are beautiful.

The town and area around Bowness are beautiful. We were able to walk and visit an amazing Arts and Crafts house and then see a very undeveloped part of the lake shore on foot. The ferry across the lake was nearby and the walk to Hill Top to see Beatrix Potter's house was beautiful and well signed. We had good meals in a pub and bistro near to Fairfield House so not needing to use the car made the location great for us.

We have visited Windemere 5 times the views and landscape breathtaking, this can be a peaceful or full on trip you choose. Plenty of choice for eating. This time of year less crowded in peak season very busy so choose your time to suit you.

Breakfast was lovely, beautifully presented, Karol and Nigel are pleasant and always attentive. The Covid situation has prevented the full array of choice, self serve cereals, fruit etc at the present time, but for us it was not a problem. The en suite room was bright and comfy. Its position is just a few hundred metres from all that's going on at Bowness on Windermere, we love it here. Value for money, hosts are friendly and helpful, even tips on local walks to take.

The hotel is stunning and the service is exceptional, really lovely staff! You get a glass of prosecco and a guided tour on arrival. We stayed in the Windermere suite with an amazing view and a hot tub, which was really luxurious. The breakfast is great and well cooked. Try out the restaurant as this is fantastic. The spa is the best I've ever been in, so lovely and the poolside bar is a real bonus! The cocktails in the bar are of great quality!

We have just returned (a party of 7) from a 3 night break in the Sandown. The location of the house for Bowness on Windermere is ideal, more than adequate parking for 4 cars, All 4 bedrooms with en-suite beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the living area, dining room, and  fully equipped kitchen were exceptional. From the initial booking to leaving on our last day, the whole experience was faultless; we will definitely return.

Stayed here yesterday (20/05/21) owners were lovely and friendly on arrival and when leaving. The bedroom was spacious and bed comfortable. The room and en suite we’re spotlessly clean. This was a 5-10 min walk from Bowness on Windermere shops, bars and restaurants so was very handy. Would recommend and Bowness is beautiful. This was room only but we knew that and the owner provided snacks, drinks etc which was great.

Kidsty pike is a beautiful apartment as it had all the mod cons you expect in an apartment and we would definitely go back. It has the town centre of bowness on windermere right on the door step. It's was lovely and clean and to be honest I can't fault this apartment in any way as its beautiful like I siad. It is a little bit hard to find but once we found the apartment, car park there to park your car. 😊

Apartment is central to Bowness on Windermere. Although I never actually met Gail, she was very friendly and helpful, and available if needed. The apartment had everything you would expect. Cleaning materials, complimentary toiletries, fully equipped kitchen, a dish washer and washing machine. Lovely place. I would recommend it.

Attitude and manner of staff was spot on, the level of professionalism and friendliness felt genuine at all times. Didn't treat the consumables in the room like they're gold plated like most hotels. Enough toilet rolls to last a week, plenty of shower gels soaps etc, and no shortage of tea and coffee Biscuits.
