There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.

Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport.
Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths. There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people.
Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.
It’s like one of those cute little inns you read about or see in the movies. My partner and I were the youngest people staying there which was kinda funny. But it was so lovely there, and comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfasts were all great and I do wish we could’ve had it on our last day but our train was early in the morning.
I will definitely stay at this place again if we do go back to Dorset!!
perfect location in the heart of Bridport hotel is currently undergoing exterior work so clad in scaffolding for now and told in advance. no problem now, and inside it’s chic, yet traditional with excellent bar facilities in and out, a pleasant restaurant and ‘pub’ seating plus outside bar. My room was a small double but contained everything needed. Homely, neat, tidy and clean. this was my first stay there but not the last
Almost central location, easy 5 minute walk of central Bridport. Incredible peace and quiet for such a central location, sometimes, just birds tweeting and nothing else. Great feel to this cottage, wonderful tasteful decor with period touches, one eye to the current, and a nod to the past. Would have loved to be there on colder days with a log burner providing additional ambience- maybe another day. I would return.
There are a lot of positives, especially for the price.
The location in Bridport is good and its easy to get to Charmouth (10-15 mins) and Lyme Regis (20 mins).
The room was large, clean and quiet and the bathroom was modern and very clean.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Easy to pop down down stairs for coffee and food if needed which is all very well priced.
A great base for us to explore the Jurassic coast.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff.
Loved the thoughtful, considered decor and unobtrusive 'mod cons'.
Particularly loved the choice of colour in our room, number 6, restful/elegant.
The bed was super comfy.
The breakfasts were delicious.
We had the Dorset but I spied others being delivered avocado, poached eggs etc and cleaning their plates.
In my opinion, the Bridge House is
everything a small hotel should be.
Beds really comfy. Room quiet although over main street. Room very clean. Staff very pleasant despite being really busy.
Great location for wandering around Bridport. Possible to park close to hotel on the street between 5pm and 9am for free. Car park further down street for parking in day-time (charges apply).
You can eat and drink on site.
The location was very central to Bridport town centre and very easy for us to get to the places we needed to from.
There was no Breakfast, but that was not an issue to us. The Hotel was shut on Sunday, so the owners kindly let us let ourselves out the following day (Sunday) and trusted us to leave the key in the door.
Breakfast not on offer
Location was perfect( Top of a hill with views and free parking in Cul de sac)
Short walk into town of Bridport ( if you are able and can avoid parking fees ) with a Street Market Wed and Sat. Also many shops for All your needs
15 minute drive into lovely West Bay which is a must
Old fashioned hotel, but lovely. Ideal position in Bridport. Great views. Large room, comfy beds, great linen. Jacuzzi bath with shower over, tv to watch in bath. Big tv in room too. Fabulous breakfast and evening meal. Staff all friendly warm and welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay - thank you.
Fantastic week at the cottage, very peaceful, very private, great position, near enough to town, good bus links to weymouth and Lyme regis, easy walk to west bay. If we go back to this part of Dorset again this cottage would be the first place on our list to stay.
Room with small kitchenette and en-suite which is very flexible and suited me. Hosts made every effort to make me feel; welcome with some very nice christmas touches. Great location near to Bridport centre but still quiet at night.
Great pub on Bridport High Street with parking . The room was fab with a claw foot Bath next to the fireplace (we were there in July so didn’t use but would be fab in winter). Very comfy bed, good breakfast. We would recommend.
Great property, right on the beach. Lovely quiet site with only a handful of other properties. Spacious rooms and enough storage for a family of 4. In the small village of Eype but only 10 minutes from Bridport or West Bay.
Excellent location for West Bay and coastal walks. Bridport was a bit of a walk but do-able (we weren't driving!). Very handy having a Spa within a short walking distance. House was clean and well organised.
This hotel is a gem - staff were impeccably polite whilst being friendly and helpful. Lovely room with very comfortable bed and I fell asleep listening to the sound of the sea. Food was excellent.
Excellent location; professional staff; entire hotel neat & clean.
We were walking the SW Coast Path, so we were quite tired and sore. The spa tub (w/ plenty of hot water) was fantastic.
Private access, comprehensive instructions on arrival. Clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. Easy to get to and a lovely part of Bridport.
