The cottage is homely, fairly clean, it has most things you need, a lovely view of Coniston and the lake. The location was perfect for us, plenty of walks from the cottage and lovely views on the walk back along the elevated lane.
The only downside was the junk around the back of the cottage, and to the side.

Beautiful area of the lakes.
Beautiful area of the lakes. We haven’t spent much time around Coniston before having normally visited Keswick. Coniston is a picturesque village, the lake makes for some amazing photos and the village’s is full of, and surrounded by, places to eat.

I have visit Coniston many times before, this time was to go fell walking with my Son. Booked Bluebird Lodge at quite short notice but found it very easy. I knew it was just outside of the town which allowed us to pick up walks without moving the car. We also took a trip on the Steam Gondola & went around the Ruskin Museum, both of which were excellent have been meaning to do for years. Bluebird Lodge is near the lake where there are a vast array of activities for all ages. Great food both at the Lodge & nearby pubs & cafes. Couldn't have asked for more. Superb!

Consiton is a lovely little Lakeland village with the famous Old Man of Coniston walk from the centre of the village.
Also, 4 lovely atmospheric pubs for refreshment after all that walking !
We ate at the Sun Inn which was just 5 minutes walk from the centre so not quite as busy. We had a very pleasant meal. The Youdale Inn has patio heaters outside so you can sit outside into the evening without feeling the chill - lovely.
In common with all Lake District towns and villages, Coniston is very busy. Our apartment offered free on site parking - a definite bonus and something to look out for !

Our visit to Brantwood by launch on the 1 fine day was the highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed Tarn Hows and the Coniston Fells. Had a good meal at Sara's Indian Restaurant. Also got a lot of information at the Ruskin Museum. Loved the windy roads and great views everywhere. Lots of memories to take back to Australia!

Coniston was a very friendly place with locals helpful and cheery.
We chose to eat in two different venues - Black Bull and The Coniston Inn. Advisable to book in both outlets to guarantee a table. Food excellent in both places but not too many options if you are a vegetarian.
Plenty of other places to eat or rest, too many to cover on this visit.
Coniston is small enough to walk around easily.
Pretty much everything. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and the shower was superb. Although the evening meals were bar meals there was an area of tables reserved for residents, as the bar was very busy. Menu choice was standard fare. Breakfasts were brilliant. The staff were very always friendly and keen to assist. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. We also ate out at the 2 other pubs in Coniston and the Black Bull was definitely the best.
Staff were very friendly , made you feel so welcome and always had a friendly welcoming manner both in the reception and bar /restaurant areas. Breakfast was surprisingly of a very high standard . The long standing chef is a great asset to the hotel. Overall the hotel had a lovely relaxed feel with great staff and great food . Location is great for all the walks and old man Coniston fell . Would definitely stay again
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the location - 3 pubs that do food and shops for groceries only a minute walk away and only a short walk down to the lake shore.
We particularly liked having the space of self catering but having breakfast included at the B and B owned by the same owner , Frances. The breakfast was well cooked, presented well and very hot.
Greeted by a helpful receptionist, rooms a great size, spotlessly clean, bathrooms lovely!
Breakfast was delicious, staff helpful and friendly.
We ate dinner, food slightly over cooked, no more expensive than anywhere else.
Hotel in ideal location, beautiful Coniston is not as busy Windermere and less commercial.
Will definitely return.
The pub was in an excellent central location. Clearly very popular both for food and the beer from the on-site Coniston Brewery. Staff were friendly if a little harassed. The residents lounge was an excellent idea to allow hotel guests to access a table.
The view from the cottage was beautiful, and it was a perfect base for walking, swimming in the lake and exploring Coniston. Loved the open fire, the comfy sofa and how cosy it felt. The cottage was clean and well kitted out with everything we needed.
Excellent accommodation. Well equipped, clean, comfortable with stunning views of the Lake and the hills. Ideal for a trip to Coniston. We were there for the Lakeland Trails running events and it is just a mile to the start which was an extra bonus.
Our stay was brilliant, excellent location between Coniston old man and the lake. The hosts were super lovely and welcoming. The room was clean and just what we needed for two nights. Breakfast was lovely and tasted great. Can not recommend enough!
Came by foot (Cumbria Way) witha a warm welcome. Walking to Torver is ok by the back route (old railway) but it could be a bit damp under some Lakeland conditions! Walking to Coniston is really a bit far for convenience.
Excellent location in centre of Coniston; parking on site; generous breakfasts; comfortable room with lots of extra touches - fresh milk, toiletries, robes, etc, etc.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Everything went very smoothly, the staff were extremely courteous and professional. The food was lovely. The very short distance to the lake was great, everything was spotless. Wonderful place.
Perfect location, with private access to the lake, relaxed atmosphere, great breakfasts, fresh milk available for tea/coffee in our room, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful garden.
Located just outside the village of Coniston but happily just opposite a hotel serving good food for supper.
Cheerful, friendly owners. A good choice for a delicious breakfast.
