"Rocky Cove" is a grand old house, right by the harbour, with lovely, freshly-decorated rooms.
Our hosts, Jonah and Nic, could not have been more welcoming and helpful - they made our stays feel really special.

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to visit, however please be aware how hilly it is. Walking down to harbour is easy but the return journey can be a bit of a slog.
Had gluten free fish and chips from Lynbay fish and chip shop.
Gluten free cream tea from St James tea garden.
Wasn't overly impressed with the beach as it mainly slate pebbles, but Woolacombe is not far away with golden sands.

Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ...
I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance .
The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural.
Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural. The town however was a little disappointing in terms of felt a bit run down and lacking in investment in some areas. Worth a visit altho not too long as I think more useful to use as a base to travel than a holiday in as wasn’t enough to offer.

As we were attending a wedding it was a good location for us but probably not the right time of year for shopping etc as most of the shops were empty or closed down. I'm sure its much better in the summer!
A great stay at Horne Cottage, would return and definitely recommend to others. The location is excellent - a short walk to Ilfracombe harbour/amenities and well located to reach other parts of North Devon by short car journey. The cottage was pristine and very comfortable, especially beds and beautifully laundered linen/towels provided. Check-in/out was very easy via a keysafe and meant we could arrive any time, we didn't meet the hosts in person but they're just next door if needed.
Our room had a sea view which was lovely and the room was a large size.
Due to coronavirus the rooms weren't serviced every day, but we were told to ask if we ever needed anything, but we managed just fine.
Breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day. The staff were very friendly too.
The hotel is a short walk to the harbour, seafront, shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here
We were visiting Ilfracombe for a wedding at The Tunnels, so the Bathhouse Hotel was perfect as it's just across the road from the venue. But the hotel is also very close to all amenities of the town and with the coastal path two minutes walk away we didn't stray far from Ilfracombe at all for the time we were there. We had such a lovely time.
The Property is beautifully set in a secluded wooded valley, with a relaxing garden and good parking, very close to the lively delightful harbour town of Ilfracombe. A warm welcome, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast with tasty coffee, make it a superb base for exploring North Devon and beyond
All staff/owners were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. we were made to feel very welcome and we would definitely stay at the Harcourt again and have already recommended it to a friend.
The breakfast was excellent as was the bar service!

Warm welcome. Excellent suite with luxury bedding/ furniture/ toiletries. Exceptional choice for breakfast for every taste/ appetite. Fabulously grand building adapted well for a boutique hotel feel. Plenty of parking on site. Located just out of town, perfect to explore the area.
Everything was lovely! Rod is a wonderful host and so helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was exceptional as well.
You can walk to the harbour within 10mins, we always got a taxi back for less than £4. Great location will definitely be back! Thanks again Rod!

Staff were friendly.
-We had a toilet leak in our room, this was rectified quickly & we were compensated by having free parking in the hotel car park & we appreciate this very much.
Good location for Ilfracombe beach & high street.
The beautiful flat is spacious, cozy and clean. Kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom has a very good shower. The location is perfect, in a quiet area with parking nearby, close to the shops, the harbour and restaurants.
Beautiful location😍, nice and quiet, next to the harbour. Heated pool was lovely ☺️ very friendly staff especially the man that show us to our caravan and told us everything we needed to know about the park.
Excellent breakfast, lots of choice and cooked to perfection.
Great harbour and sea view from bedroom
Hosts and staff very welcoming and friendly
Great base for exploring North Devon area
Great location, near the harbour beach, quick run across the road for the dog in the morning - off leash beach run, perfect. Very comfortable flat, welcoming bottle of wine on arrival.
